American Horror Story: Murder House (Revisit)
I started watching the first season of American Horror Story to revisit it as it’s been 10 years since I watched it. Since I watched it on FX every week instead of binging it on a streaming service, I always thought that it seemed very choppy with each episode almost existing on its own without flowing well into the next one. I thought perhaps if I binge wanted it on Netflix, it might seem more cohesive and flow better.
I was dead wrong. Binging it has allowed me to see what an amateurish attempt it was. The writing, editing, and directing was all over the place — not to mention the shaky cinematography like in Blair Witch.
Good god. I’m shocked this show made it, honestly.

Haha, I'm kinda glad you had this experience, I remember feeling the same watching it and no understanding what the fuss was about. Also, too many fucking ghosts wandering around that house, that's not scary at all.
It's a great idea for a series, but terrible execution. Kinda like everything Murphy touches.

Series like American Horror Story and The Walking Dead are for people who aren't really into horror.

Murder House was my favorite of the series, I found it to be really scary, especially episode 2. None of the other subsequent series did it for me, but Coven, Apocalypse, & Roanoke came close. Hated Hotel & Election/Cult.

Especially considering that the first season was the best by far.
I enjoyed it but I tried to rewatch it and found it uninteresting a second time.
The second season was borderline scary, and Coven was entertaining for the first half, and then the whole series collapsed forever.
I think the only reason I care at all is that they often begin with an interesting premise and get my mond going and then follow with worse writing than I could even imagine. The current season's first episode was promising, the second one kind of interesting, and then it just got worse and worse with each new one. I swear I feel like the producers must be taunting FX to cancel the show.

You get to see Dylan McDermott naked from behind while he stands and masturbates.
That's enough for me to enjoy!

Yep, that was the draw. Dylan McD peaked at 50.

Am I remembering wrong, or is he crying while masturbating? That spoilt it slightly, haha.

Only season 2 and season 4 are worth watching.

None are worth watching because Ryan Murphy can't keep a cohesive storyline going for more than 3 episodes, and has no concept of how to build atmosphere.
