by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 23, 2021 3:34 PM |
Cause there maybe times
When you think you lost your mind
And the steps you're takin'
Leave you three, four steps behind
But the road you're walking
Might be long sometimes
You just keep on steppin'
And you'll just be fine, yeah

I rag on her a lot, but Janet’s “Where Are You Now” has become an earworm since I downloaded it this summer.

Years ago in a Peanuts strip, Lucy or Charlie said the cure to getting a tune out of your head is to sing it out loud at the top of your lungs.

I've had Here I Go Again stuck since yesterday.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 23, 2021 4:17 PM |
I've had Goldfinger stuck in my head since yesterday. (and had a Latino finger in my ass last night...)
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 23, 2021 4:27 PM |
I like The Wiz, it is a fun musical.

Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Nipsy Russell, Ted Ross, Lena Horne, Mabel King, and Richard Pryor are great actors/singers.
I'm gay, but would be straight for Lena Horne.

learn the lyrics. Sing along as you read the lyrics. Often repeating a song in the head is your brain trying to remember or recognize gaps in the lyrics. By learning all of the words, you complete the puzzle and your brain moves on.

Ease on Down, Ease on Down the road

I’ve had the following stuck in my head:
“There was blood and a single gun shot, but just who shot who(m)? At the Copa. Copa Cabana”

I've had Linda Ronstandt's version of "Different Drum" playing non-stop in my head since hearing that Mike Nesmith died, and reading that he wrote that song.

Play something complicated to drive it out, something not easy to get stuck there.
Some of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos work for me.

I’m sure it was, but sadly, I’ve only seen the movie, which is a 2 1/2 hour train wreck. The soundtrack, however, is excellent; i still listen to it today, so i don’t see a problem here.

Here ya go, OP. This will knock it right out of your head.
Oh, what a relief it is!

Hey lady, you lady cursing at your life

I do love Ease on Down the Road, so worse things could happen than having that stuck in your head.
I heard Neutron Dance by the Pointer Sisters yesterday in a store. I had not heard or even thought of that song in years. It was never a favorite of mine at all, but it was nice to hear something in an upbeat tempo. It's been a while since that sort of thing has been popular.
Personally, and on my own, I can't stop listening to Harry Nilson, Jump Into the Fire. I listen to it at least once every few days. IDK what to make of that.

this is one of the catchiest songs ever. Best way to get a song out of your head is to learn it. Your brain keeps replaying to figure out the lyrics you dont know, like a skipped record. So play the youtube version with lyrics, sing it 10 times, maybe even out loud, and within a few days it will go away.

Would that road be the Hershey Highway by any chance?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | December 13, 2021 7:58 PM |
Maybe it’s a euphemism for your desire for anal sex, op.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | December 13, 2021 8:10 PM |
Too bad the clip of Jenna Mulroney singing that in blackface is unavailable on YouTube. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | December 13, 2021 8:16 PM |
Singing the song out loud should remedy that situation.

In Michael Jackson’s case, the Herseys are all child-sized.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | December 13, 2021 8:48 PM |
I got it stuck in my head AGAIN.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 19, 2022 2:22 AM |
Just change it to we're off to see the wizard. It's exactly the same song.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 19, 2022 3:09 PM |
OP. Chew gum and hum audibly. Not the song, just make a noise. For like an hour. It's annoying for anyone around you because you sound like white trash, but it works.

R14 rumor has it that Ms. Horne had a liking for the ladies.
"Don't you carry nothing that might be a load, ease on down, ease on down the road!"
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 19, 2022 4:44 PM |
Ease on down.
Ease on down.
Just ease on down the road.

Nope. Picasso beat his mistresses, but they aren’t pulling his paintings down off the museum walls.
I believe ALL the allegations about MJ, but I’ll never stop listening to ‘Thriller,’ ‘Off the Wall, and even ‘Bad!’ If you’re only going to consume entertainment and art by morally upright people, you aren’t going to have many options.
And I’ll say it again about ‘The Wiz:’ awful movie; KILLER soundtrack!

Hardly the same. Don't be fucking ridiculous.
[quote] If you’re only going to consume entertainment and art by morally upright people, you aren’t going to have many options.
Absolute nonsense.
You're an idiot.

I doubt Picasso’s victims would agree

Maybe, but your inability to construct an opposing argument suggests you’re no Mensa candidate yourself.

"It's a Small World" will clear any earworm. Sorry about the new one.
