The original should have been a stand-alone movie. It was ok. The second one was stupid and the third was unwatchable (I Will Always Know What You Did Last Summer). Can't believe this "franchise" inspired a series. That said, the trailer doesn't look too bad.

I Know was a box office hit. It came out shortly after Scream, both box office hits and making names out of its stars.

Just like you can’t have a Freddy movie without Robert England, you must can’t have “I Know” series without Jennifer Love Hewitt or Sarah Michelle Gellar. They were what made the movie a hit.

A third and final JLH film would've been better a choice.

I don’t see a single guy who’s even halfway hot as RyGod Phillippe in the 90s. The only point in remaking this movie would be if you finally found someone who could rival his incandescent beauty.

Ryan Philippe is a mess. He also was trying to get this show made for years and it kept getting tossed, and now it’s being made without his input.

I think the murder mystery has something to do with the parents. My guess is the dad killed the gay teen and his boyfriend, because he feared he realized that his daughter, the gay teen's BFF, switched her identity with her twin. And I think it was the dad who killed the daughter he liked less and didn't realize he killed the daughter he actually loved "by accident" in, I'm guessing, some kind of ritual sacrifice kind of deal.

Love the Hawaii location. One of the minor players had a role in the HBO hit The White Lotus.

I don’t think the acting is any worse than most teen shows. Every teen show thread I see the same comments about “bad acting” when in reality these young actors are doing a pretty good job at acting like today’s teens.

The only one that is noticeably bad is the one who plays Dylan. The rest are fine.

The only teen drama I’ve ever seen you all compliment the acting on was the OG Gossip Girl and the acting there is TERRIBLE.

I couldn't follow what the hell was going on. After suffering through the first episode, I couldn't give a shit what happens next. One of Us Is Lying on Peacock is a fun series if you want something where the story chugs along (nicely) and keeps you guessing.

I understand what is happening fine. There are two twins, one of them accidentally hit the other with the car and killed her, but it’s not the twin everyone thinks they killed.

They think they killed Alyssa but they actually killed Lennon, and now Lennon is pretending to be Alyssa and going along with it all.

The brutual killing of the gay teen and the coach was brutal, all the more surprising since most of the deaths so far have been offscreen. The graphic nudity and language caught me off guard for being the teen and American-centric show it is.

There is a scene where Dylan puts the bike of the drug dealing friend in the back of his van by himself, and it looks like he doesn't want her to see what's back there (the viewer doesn't see it either). Could be a red herring. He really seemed into fucking Lennon, even grabbing her hair while fucking her doggy style. Not something you'd expect from a virgin.

I know it's stupid to criticize this show for being unrealistic but surprised that Allyson's secret wasn't discovered when they found her sister's body. No mention at all of the scar.

Eps 3-4 are a bit better. The three teen girls are super annoying and the actress playing Lennon/Allyson is just not good enough to be the lead. Dylan seems like the odd man out in this show wandering in and out of scenes. When the camera is off the girls, the show actually is more interesting with just the quirky characters in town.

I thought the acting was decent. That asian actress has a few emotional scenes and can you imagine having to do 20 takes of that?

I started watching this last night. It's tolerable fluff. The Hawaii backdrop is stunning. In my opinion, the Scream series had a much better pace, and more likeable characters. But the best recent horror series has to be Slasher - totally fresh, well acted and intriguing.

The problem with this IKWYDLS series is that you just don't care much for any of the characters. There's no real tension.

This show is trying for Twin Peak quirkiness but the annoying girls get in the way.

I am really disappointed the show hasn't killed off one of the girls already. Don't tell me they all survive...

Please let them kill off Margot, the emaciated Asian lesbian. I find her extremely offputting.

The only good thing I can say about the Scream series is it had like 2 or 3 good kills. But the acting was barely acting. It was saying lines. It was bad. The lead lacks any charm or charisma, she actually comes off unlikeable.

The boyfriends death was done well and one other.

The father is hot as fuck. They had a scene where that annoying guy hugs him and I thought damn, daddy can get it.

All the characters are hideous. In this genre there needs to be one or two likeable characters for the viewer to root for.

The highlight of this week is Dylan stripping down for a swim in the ocean and showing his bare ass in a bed scene. Nice body but flat ass... The rest of the episode is pretty pointless with someone new showing up at the end of this penultimate episode to add to the convoluted plot.

Dylan as a character remains quite a mystery. It is implied but not explicitly stated that he is an active member of the Cult, but we never find out when and how he was recruited. His odd behaviors like carving names into the cave wall and feeding those spiders in the final episode were just shown as red herrings with no follow-up explanation. It helps that the actor is nice to look at and that's probably why I stuck with the show till the end.

It was the remaining member of the cult, Claire, who recruited him. It must have happened during the year after Lemmon was killed, and he ghosted all of his friends. Notice in his final scene in the prison's communal he's reading from something what looks like a Bible to his fellow inmates, and it's likely the book Lemmon's mom was after, which was in Claire's possession.

However, no clue how Dylan was able to get his hands on the book while in prison.

Wouldn’t dental records be a more reliable way to distinguish twins, there’d be 18+ years of medical records and no two twins are going to have the same cavity pattern. Also, I waited the whole series to find out why the fuck these two opposite antagonist twins would choose a graduation party to dress alike when they most likely never did since mom “died,” and it was an inappropriate outfit for the party on top of that. But I wasn’t rewarded with an answer. This was a shit show and the only explanation I can phantom why these actors did it is to ride out a chunk of pandemic time in Hawaii.

I hate those reveals where most of it makes no sense based on what happened on camera. How did she know that all these people (including her own gay BFF) were actual threats to her and her plan to take revenge on Allison for impersonating the love of her life, Lennon?

Did the creator watch the original Gossip Girl's final episode while high on meth?

So, if you were like me as soon as the credits started to roll you got the hell out, but in reading a recap it revealed that Margot gives an all out confession to everything post credits, so I went back and watched.

Actually, I would have liked to hear Dylan tell his story about his "cult obsession" and what exactly he did in the service of the Cult! Especially with Riley's corpse seemingly reanimated at the end, I would like to do what occult magic is the Cult into and what its ultimate aim is. But I guess we'll never know.

Nothing says great storytelling like an info dump during the credits. What a waste.

The mistake this showrunner made was to focus so much on the twin angst and skimping over the cult mystery. In her interview, she seems especially proud of the twist of Allison choosing to be a Lennon substitute for crazy Margot. That's the payoff she thought would satisfy the audience... The show did have some Twin Peaks zaniness but it was mostly left undeveloped in the background.

I finally watched the show. I enjoyed it up until the finale. The whole cult subplot was kind of weird from the start and didn't really fit the show or contribute anything to it, but I was able to overlook it for the sake of the plot. That ending was so ridiculous and absurd that I couldn't excuse it, though. I don't believe Alison really would've done what she did. You mean to tell me she obsessed over Dylan the entire show and called him "the love of her life" only to put him away forever so she could be with a psycho killer who very nearly murdered her? Alison's relationship with Margot came across as forced just for the sake of being different than your typical "couple defeats the villain and lives happily ever after" ending. But just because something is different doesn't necessarily make it good. The ending left me feeling cheated and like I had wasted my time.

And also, why did Riley open her eyes at the end? Is she a zombie now or a female Michael Myers that cannot be killed? That part was kind of dumb as well. I can see why they decided not to go ahead with Season 2. Oh, and one more thing. Dylan's painted nails also looked silly. They have got to go.

R154 I think the cult has a "resurrection" ritual where they cover the corpse in honey wax or something. I think Dylan said they tried it on dead Lennon's body and it didn't work, so they dumped the corpse into the sea where Alison later discovered it while swimming. The cult was supposed to account for some of Dylan's weird actions, but I don't think the show ever showed when and how Dylan got involved in the cult. Also, I think Alison sided with Margot because Dylan rejected her when she revealed her true identity after they had sex. She thought Margot was the only one who would love her as her true self.
