After he waited for three cement trucks to pass, a fourth truck, previously blocked by opposing traffic, struck him while he was in the street. It was later discovered that the reason he was not killed was that his bicycle took the full force of the truck.

DeVine regained full mobility but still has extensive scarring on his legs. He said of the accident, "It was really tough because I had to relearn how to walk, stand up, sit up and everything. The legs were totally mangled. I think that experience helped me realize that anything is possible."

All the guys from the first two films were dropped for the third movie for the story. They had Becca and Fat Amy both break up with their boyfriends, which we find out through dialogue at the beginning of the movie. They were no longer college students and on the same campus. They never mentioned what happened to Benji, played by Ben Platt.

The only male from the previous two films in the third was John Michael Higgins.

Skylar Astin said that he doesn’t know why he wasn’t invited for PP3 but if they did a 4th he would 100% wanna be in it. He said those films were a lot of fun to film and super successful, so he would be stupid to decline an invite if it ever happened.

I always assumed Skylar wasn’t invited to the third because him and Anna were divorcing at that point and she didn’t want him there, and because he wasn’t there they didn’t include any of the guys.
