"Guramrit Hanspal, 52, bought the three-bedroom, 2.5-bath home in 1998 for $290,000, making a single mortgage payment before the house was foreclosed upon in 2000."
Judge moves to evict Long Island man who hasn’t paid mortgage in 23 years

Now THIS is juicy gay gossip!

He needs to learn house to use a pressure washer on that mildew infested siding.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 21, 2021 1:01 PM |
Is every Nassau County house a piece of shit? Huge antennae, no trees, crappy siding…wtf.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 21, 2021 1:01 PM |
The North Shore is nice.
Central Nassau and the South Shore are trash.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 21, 2021 1:02 PM |
I'm sure AOC will think it's ok that he has free-loaded for the past 23 years because all banks are evil.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 21, 2021 1:07 PM |
Send in the whip-wielding Border Patrol cavalry to drive him out.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 21, 2021 1:14 PM |
What a user. Great tenacity with dragging out a foreclosure though. Dammmm
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 21, 2021 1:28 PM |
Had he saved $500 a month for each of 23 years at a modest interest rate, he would now have the initial purchase price.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 21, 2021 3:29 PM |
My in-laws (husband's brother's wife's parents) haven't paid their mortgage (wow, I didn't know there was a t in that word!) for something like ten years. The wife recently died, but my husband thinks the guy does have money, from a pension or something. I don't know how this scam is done, and don't want anything to do with the family because the old man gives me the heeby jeebies. I think he is a child molester or child molester adjacent.

They’re not your in-laws.

I can smell the curry and smegma permeating from that dump. And I reside halfway across the country.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 21, 2021 3:50 PM |
Good R10, 'cause I never wanted anything to do with them. How should I refer to them? (Now just him.)
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 21, 2021 3:51 PM |
Just some people you know. Lol.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 21, 2021 4:42 PM |
No mortgage payments for years, but there are 5 cars in the driveway including a Mercedes.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 21, 2021 5:01 PM |
How this possible without foreclosure or sherif sales being evaded or some kind of eviction or something. It doesn’t make sense.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 21, 2021 5:12 PM |

I admit to having a grudging admiration for his ingenuity and persistence.

Bulldoze that dump with him and all his shit in it.

Extended in-laws l? In- law adjacents?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 21, 2021 6:25 PM |
Ooo, so much casual racism, not a good new look for DL.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 21, 2021 6:35 PM |
There's nothing casual about DL's racism.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 21, 2021 7:37 PM |
I knew a guy in PA where he was trying to get the mortgage bank to finally foreclose but they kept dragging it way out saying “we have our procedures.”

[quote] No mortgage payments for years, but there are 5 cars in the driveway including a Mercedes.
Sure. When you don’t have to pay a mortgage, you can afford nice cars.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 21, 2021 7:56 PM |
How could this be? It makes no sense. Three different owners have been unsuccessful in getting him out? What a fucked up system.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 21, 2021 8:49 PM |
This is a neat trick by the NY Post because they don't actually have to say "All the tenant protections Albany enacts really just wind up being abused by guys like this so let's tear them all down so Rupert's rich friends can toss people into the streets".
Via news stories like this one, voters will say it for him.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 21, 2021 8:54 PM |
This is how Trump has operated for years and suddenly the Post hates it?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 21, 2021 8:55 PM |

R23 That Mercedes could be his, but I’m assuming there’s several other people living in that house.

R12 Outlaws.

I haven't read all the articles in full. I only help he's held liable for 23 years of mortgage payments.

East Meadow is central Nassau. The county hospital NUMC is there and the town is full of hard working middle class people, many of them immigrants.
The South Shore has charming areas such as Point Lookout. And as hideous as the housing stock is most places on the South Shore, any place on the water, is on the water. And on the water is pretty nice, split level ranch and McMansion be damned.

[Quote]They’re not your in-laws.
[Quote]Good [R10], 'cause I never wanted anything to do with them. How should I refer to them? (Now just him.)
R12 You can disregard the rule, and just informally refer to them as your in-laws. You can clarify whenever it's necessary.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 14, 2021 2:16 PM |
R24, the article explains that he filed multiple bankruptcy cases and lawsuits to temporarily stop eviction, over and over. I used to specialize in defeating such efforts by people like him but it's a complex legal process that does take some time (though months rather than years if the creditor has the right lawyer).

This man has evaded eviction under the Presidencies of Clinton, W Bush, Obama and Mango Mussolini. He’s a Bipartisan grifter. Thank goodness Biden finally got him out.
There I fixed the politics of the discussion.
Also I think the in-laws of my in-law might be correct.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 14, 2021 2:18 PM |

A few years ago in Rockland County, New York a couple applied for welfare. The county paid "rent" directly to landlord. It was learned that before they applied for public assistance, their house was transferred to an LLC with wife and hubby as principals. The "rent" was paying off their mortgage. They were forced to return all money.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | November 14, 2021 9:05 PM |
They should’ve made them return half the money, giving credit for creativity.
