NYT is pushing the line of Israel to curry favor with long-standing contacts. I trust the Daily Mail on this one.

The robot gun is a silly story. Iran knew Israel was after the scientist. He had a motorcade. You think nobody would notice a truck parked on a remote road that happens to lead to the scientist’s vacation house? And that the scientist motorcade routinely make a U turn to get to his house? Come on.

I bet you Trump blabbed about the assassination back in November 2020 and gave out the details, probably at some maralago dinner party with the My Pillow guy , Rudy and a bunch of fat assed red staters, Russians and Chinese spies at the table. Israel figured yeah ok, lay low and later on we’ll release some fakakta story about a drone or a robot to Maggie Haberman and tell her to get NYT to print it, nomesayin?

OP, both stories are accurate if you conjecture that his wife is lying because she was in on the plot!
