I’m not going to live in it. You live in it.

Woah!

This will end in tears.

by Anonymousreply 1September 14, 2021 9:33 PM

I wouldn't want to live next to it either.

by Anonymousreply 2September 14, 2021 9:34 PM

Looks great!

by Anonymousreply 3September 14, 2021 9:35 PM

I think it's a gorgeous and unique building.

I'd live there.

If I had a membership in the Equinox underneath, I would not go. Not that this would represent any great change.

by Anonymousreply 5September 14, 2021 9:41 PM

Yow! I wouldn't get an hour's sleep.

by Anonymousreply 6September 14, 2021 9:41 PM

It's not like living in a square tower is any guarantee of structural integrity.

by Anonymousreply 7September 14, 2021 9:45 PM

Silly gimmick.

by Anonymousreply 8September 14, 2021 9:56 PM

I'm sure its optically illusive, but the offset portion already appears to be leaning slightly.

by Anonymousreply 9September 14, 2021 10:29 PM

It’s all good until someone pulls out the wrong Jenga tile.

by Anonymousreply 10September 14, 2021 10:35 PM

There has to be an angled structural piece, no?

by Anonymousreply 11September 14, 2021 10:40 PM

West? 91st???? How does one travel there?

by Anonymousreply 12September 14, 2021 10:47 PM

It looks like someone had the building plans upside down.

by Anonymousreply 13September 14, 2021 11:08 PM

Upper West Side, sei in pericolo, ragazza!

by Anonymousreply 14September 14, 2021 11:09 PM

Nope.

by Anonymousreply 15September 14, 2021 11:33 PM

[quote] If I had a membership in the Equinox underneath,

I was wondering, did they buy that property underneath in order to obtain the airspace above it?

by Anonymousreply 16September 14, 2021 11:37 PM

Not my bag, baby.

by Anonymousreply 17September 14, 2021 11:50 PM

Reminds me exactly of my dear Venezuelan pied-à-terre that I had to sell. See thread from earlier this year.

Does the novelty shape really justify the missing units? Seems more like a student’s project than a wise investment.

by Anonymousreply 19September 15, 2021 1:30 AM

That’s the ratio I’ve always hoped for: Fewer bottoms, a lot more tops.

by Anonymousreply 20September 15, 2021 1:38 AM

The worst part is the diagonal elevator ride.

by Anonymousreply 21September 15, 2021 2:04 AM

They no doubt bought the Equinox building’s air rights. You can do that with adjacent (defined broadly) parcels. That means that building can never build higher.

by Anonymousreply 22September 15, 2021 5:33 AM

It seems short enough that structural integrity shouldn't be a problem. Still, I get that the mental aspect might drive some people nuts or not want to live there in the first place.

by Anonymousreply 23September 15, 2021 3:15 PM

if they did it the other way, there would be terraces. Who is against terraces?

by Anonymousreply 24September 15, 2021 3:28 PM

that's a great point R24. Thew other way around it has much more utility.

by Anonymousreply 25September 15, 2021 4:02 PM

No fat people allowed above the sixth floor.

by Anonymousreply 26September 15, 2021 4:10 PM

The don’t have the land to build it the other way.

by Anonymousreply 27September 15, 2021 4:29 PM

I’m the Miami condo buildings giving this the side eye 😒

by Anonymousreply 28September 15, 2021 4:40 PM

That rendering with the pristine facade and dramatic lighting is a joke.

The reality is that the building is going to look dreary pretty fast.

by Anonymousreply 29September 15, 2021 4:44 PM

Dreary? I don’t think so. Terrifying

by Anonymousreply 30September 15, 2021 5:40 PM

There is a big pool on the roof deck on the side that overhangs. You cannot make this up.

by Anonymousreply 31September 15, 2021 5:46 PM

This is the new building designed for all the guys from Jackass.

by Anonymousreply 32September 15, 2021 6:37 PM

I like Spain's version better.

Top-heavy building are unnerving and therefore ugly.

Pics. Yes a pool.

What's holding it up especially the lower level that sticks out?

by Anonymousreply 37September 18, 2021 12:55 AM

There are the Veer Towers in Vegas that lean away from each other.

Ugly!

I'll say it again, Ugly!

The only consolation is that city real estate will demand that it be remodelled/removed in 2047.

25 years to wait.

by Anonymousreply 39September 18, 2021 1:00 AM

When this structure collapses, many will die. Limestone is heavy as fuck.
