Foy got an award that scene where she sits and gives a speech? Most of the scene is a montage of people listening. Was the competition for that category weak this year?

The competition wasn’t weak, R1, but Emmy voters tend to just name check actors they like in popular shows, particularly in the guest categories. Margo Martindale (The Americans) and Cherry Jones (Handmaid’s Tale) both won recently for brief cameos in which they had little to do.

Didn’t Ellen Burstyn once get a Guest Emmy nomination for a 30 second performance? They really need to make some changes to that category.
