I think I was the only one who didn't get Florence's character on The Jeffersons. She was the maid, not a member of the family. She didn't do her job and she treated George like garbage. I would have fired her ass so fast she wouldn't know what hit her. I never understood why he put up with that. Sass is one thing, but Florence was also lazy as fuck.

I mean, she managed to put in a surprise appearance as Florence in one of those live classic sitcoms that Jimmy Kimmel was doing with Norman Lear. Woman has some stamina.

She's the only main cast member from the Jeffersons that's still living.

I used to live three blocks away from the apartment building that was used for exterior shots as the Jeffersons' apartment building and the theme song would play in my head every time I walked by it.

Damon Evans and Berlinda Tolbert are still around.

I would consider them main cast members given that they were in the opening credits for a couple of years.

Marla thought she saw Jackee in the crowd and thought she'd be upstaged.

In the late 80s I lived on E. 87th (next door to the Charles Peter Nagle Funeral Home) very near that building. I too would sing the theme song in my head every morning walking to the subway.

Portable fans, cold compresses can help to have at hand when it's boiling hot.

Isabel died in 2004 from cardiac arrest and heart disease. She’d have been 104 this year.

Isabel was so funny when she won her Emmy (the only black woman to ever win Lead Actress in a Comedy Series).

What's even more shocking is that she was twenty years older than Sherman Hemsley.

Isabel's Emmy was a joke. She was a lousy actress. They only gave it to her for longevity. She won the Pat Harrington/John Ritter award.

You know Marla was wearing a synthetic wig and those things are hot!!! Why no fans or misters? Who plans an event in almost triple-digit temperatures with elderly people without adequate shade and hydration?
