Brexit was always undoable to begin with. And now Britain is trying to wriggle out.
I have this feeling that the days when britannia waived the rules are over.

When is there going to be another referendum on leaving the UK? Have the demographics tipped in favor of the Irish Republic yet?

If the U.K. proceeds, they can kiss a trade agreement with the US goodbye. Because they’d be kissing the Good Friday agreement goodbye. Biden is committed to it as is a majority in the Senate.
What happened to the idea that a nation abides by the agreements it signs?

Bye Scotland too. This will only confirm the worst that the Scots have thought of England.

The PM has to authorize referenda for independence. He's not doing that.

It'll happen one way or the other, referendum or not. Mark my words.

The UK has the right and the responsibility to maintain its sovereignty and the integrity of its internal common market. The EU must know that’s inevitable.

Integrity. You made a funny.

Honestly, I'm shocked they joined the EU in the first place. England always seems to look down it's collective nose at everyone else.

The Brits haven’t moved on from the days of the empire.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 21, 2021 4:43 PM |
I was shocked too. And surprised they weren't kicked out earlier.

Brexiteers = Trumpers. Zero brain cells.

The UK government already knows that there will no agreement with the U.S. during the Biden (“I’m Irish!”) administration, no matter what, so there’s nothing to risk losing. The UK can focus on fixing the protocol without that distraction.

R3, in fairness, the Scots always think the worst of EVERYBODY.
