College campus in San Diego

Are any of them really nice looking. (not interested in going there so academic don't matter but in doing a photo shoot there.) Looking for nice sort of east coast type buildings.

Why don't you shoot at an East Coast campus?

by Anonymousreply 1July 21, 2021 4:16 AM

Because the company and staff I'm photographing are in San Diego. We can't fly them all to Harvard.

Alumnus of three San Diego colleges/universities here and I don't see any resemblance. I guess it depends on what you're trying to shoot. It's all very Mission or Brutalism.

Are you sure you can get a permit for shooting that porn on a campus?

by Anonymousreply 4July 21, 2021 4:51 AM

Which 3 r3?

Was one at least nicer than the others if not east coast looking?

You can drive them to Claremont. Or even take the train.

by Anonymousreply 6July 21, 2021 5:20 AM

You won’t find anything like that in or around San Diego. The nearest you’ll get is USC in downtown LA. It stands in for movies and TV shows that are set in the northeastern US a lot. Claremont, the city, has the vibe. But the colleges there do not.

How would you describe UCSD, San Diego State and the University of San Diego in terms of nicest campus?

by Anonymousreply 8July 21, 2021 5:37 AM

University of San Diego - a relatively unknown former Catholic university. Gorgeous campus - UCS and SDSU don't have much to look at - they are new universities from the 60's so the architecture is shitty.

U San Diego is beautiful and unexpected - but def not East Coast.

by Anonymousreply 9July 21, 2021 5:40 AM

OP, you're going to have be editing out a lot of palm trees.

by Anonymousreply 10July 21, 2021 5:44 AM

R10 - and editing in people in coats of any kind.

Here's U. of San Diego, a beautiful campus for really dumb rich kids who couldn't get in anywhere else.

Thanks everybody. I think I'll try University of San Diego. There has to be something there that at least looks kind of academic.

Go to La Jolla and take your pics on the beach!!!

by Anonymousreply 13July 21, 2021 5:50 AM

R13 - yeah! Cuz LaJolla is always empty of tourists and day-trippers! It will be easy to edit out the thousands of beach goers and cars! In the Summer!
