R1 NWV you need to order off-menu, mateāour goalie Jordan Pickford will be right up your alley. So long as youāre prepared to fight John Stones for him.
Heās not included in the poll because as much as heās a sexy legend and so good in goal he could save the planet, frankly he has some hard to overlook Shrek vibes.

The squad strongly suspect that their skipper Kane has a plan to force his rumoured Premier League transfer (a la Bale) away from a reluctant Spurs (Nuno is adamant heās not selling Harry this year), by skipping much of pre-season training when it starts in three weeks. Just leaving the team heās meant to be leading in the lurch, while theyāre on an all-time high at a critical juncture in time, all for the sake of his own career. Dickhead.
Itās fine by me, though, as I donāt like him in the role of national Captain, anywayāit doesnāt suit him, and he doesnāt have the presence or command the authority necessary to use it well. Hopefully this means another player will receive the armband, either on a temporary or permanent basis. Considering age and authority, almost certainly Hendo gets it, as long he stays with the team next year. Long live Captain Jordan!
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 18, 2021 8:18 AM |
R31 Hilarious that, thanks to COVID restrictions, despite playing almost all the games at home these players spent at least 7 if not 10-12 weeks not being able to mix with their WAGs and kids and parents in public socially at all (except briefly in the stands after games), only then as soon as the Euros finished half of them instantly fucked off on a ladsā holiday together without a backward look at their familiesš
Except Pickford & Foden who it seems took their wives & toddlers for a break abroad (awww). And Kane & Hendo who ofc responsibly stayed in England and went home to their families.

Grealish is fit and not hard to look at in the face, but at the same time he looks like he'd wipe his dick on your bedroom curtains, and like heās got several diseases that a blister-pack full of disprin can't cure.
Reportedly he doesnāt ever use condoms at all, so in about a year thereāll be a glut of baby Jacks toddling about, or heāll have contracted and spread an alphabet soup of hepatitis.
Also, he doesnāt wash his hair often enough, or heās using the wrong product. Even though his mane is shiny and thereās a lot of it, itās always on the lank side.

Dier said in an interview last year that once as a joke gift his mates got him a book on how to pick up women, because apparently as a hot rich fit pro footballer heās still *that* hopeless at talking to girls.
Maybe the looks and the money have precluded him from finding a personality.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 21, 2021 10:03 PM |
R39/R40 you probably donāt care anymore, but I asked a mate who used to be a semi-pro footballer about ten years ago, and he said that pro footballers are often asked to shave their bodies (or at least their legs), because it makes the jobs of physics/medics/trainers easier. If you have to treat or gel massage or oil up or freeze a certain body part, then itās less hassle when you donāt have to contend with hair getting in the way or getting stuck and pulling. Itās also easier to assess wounds & damage such as cuts if the skin is clear of hair.
Another more traditional but weird reason is that in the old pre-1990s days of shitkicking Sunday League-style football, a player could taunt or provoke or distract another he was marking by yanking hairs on his legs or arms. This would tend to happen when corners were taken. Nasty practise, and it isnāt allowed or really possibly now.
The only players now who tend to keep it hairy are the nobody low-level players from Eastern European countries like Ukraine, or those who have religious exemptions from altering body hair such as Muslim players like Mo Salah.

Harry Kane's biggest problem is that his agent is his own brother. Charlie is an inexperienced clown who has always been disliked, not to mention that he lacks the credentials to go into negotiations with actual sharks.
Harryās second-biggest problem is presuming on the fairness of Daniel Levy. Incredible that at this level of business, Harry believed that a handshake could hold up against binding contracts. Sancho had a similar āgentlemenās agreementā with Dortmund, except their owner isnāt a complete weasel and the team isnāt a juggernaut, and so at least an amicable deal could be brokered from that.

Ahead of the qualifiers in a few weeks, Iām trying to predict whoās making the World Cup squad and the starting XI.
Abraham, Barkley, Greenwood & Chilwell didnāt play in Euro 2020 at all, thanks to COVID risk and/or their own misdemeanours; while Lingard & Alexander-Arnold were both conspicuously out with injury. The return of any or all of these players to the starting XI for the World Cup will threaten the newfound equilibrium of the suprisingly-successful squad of Euro 2020, thereby pushing out the youngest & oldest or more popular players such as Bellingham, Saka, Sancho, Grealish, Mings, Walker & Henderson (all players Iāll be sad to see benched or left at home). Hopefully Gareth realises what heās got in his current configuration.

The new Sterling-Grealish partnership at City is worrying me, and may bode ill for Englandās World Cup team if they both get a call-up next week.
Itās all smiles for the media at the moment, but from the actual games City have played so far, itās obvious that Sterling doesn't want to pass to Jack or help him fly (just like in the Euros). Up to now Sterling might have been Jackās England buddy, but now he obviously feels threatened with Jack being at the same club. From now, theyāre competing to play the same starting position in the same League side, and since Jack only just got off the bus at the Etihad with a massive price-tag still shiny and dangling from his pretty whore ear? Unlike Jack, Raheem is a clever boy, and Iām sure he can read the writing on the wall.
And Baldiola isnāt doing much to hide that he wants Raheem out sooner than later, ideally to fund Harry Kane (City desperately need a world-class striker, like yesterday). Given chance, Pep would flog Sterling half-price to Crystal Palace tomorrow.

World Cup squad announced!
Almost the same as the Euros (good man Gareth), minus Rashford, Greenwood, Chilwell & Dean Henderson, and plus Calvert-Lewin, Alexander-Arnold & Lingard. Thereās also a newcomer in posh prettyboy Patrick Bamford.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | August 26, 2021 4:07 PM |
Thinking about it, I really didnāt want Jesse Lingard back in the squad.
Heās a lovely lad whoās done well up to now; honestly at this point though, heās outclassed by every other player, his best days are behind him, he doesnāt really have any integral role outside of playing (unlike other older injury-prone players like Hendo & Stones, who do a lot in terms of leadership), heās been out injured half the previous season, and heās more focused on his young family than his career (nothing wrong with that either, he should be).
Tbh it feels like a gratitude/tokenistic callup, just because Gareth likes Jesse as a person and appreciates his past service, which is the wrong reason to give someone a spot on the squad.
A young unestablished newcomer from a mid-table underrepresented team who desperately needs and wants caps could have come through instead.

itās hard to prove yourself and improve when you dont play. trent sadly believes his england performances have been mediocre but they haventāhis version of mediocre is better than most playersā good. hes just not being given the chance

Our win streak is gone! Fucking Lewandowski. Weāre still top of the table, but it doesnāt feel so euphoric now..
If Kane could stop leaving it ātil last minute to appear and actually put one in the onion bag like we pay him the big money to do, that would be fab. Funny watching the camera cut straight to Gareth after Harry scoredāhis expression fully said ājust for that, my best boy is getting eaten out tonightā.
Personally I more adore Pickers, but he almost gave me a coronary with that near own-goal tonight. Fuck me, that was too close for comfort. Then of course he fluffed it in extra time, though that ball was Walkerās responsibility for the most part (@Southgate: Walks is fat and slow and he keeps getting carded for shithouseryā-please drop him for Greenwood).
Rice & Philips have clicked marvellously and are doing Godsā work in midfield, but we canāt rely on them alone to protect our half and stop the ball from leaving our possession. Mount & Trippier barely bothered to get a touch in all game, not good enough.
Where were our subs, as well? Why is Gareth so deadset against making them until itās too late? Some old trauma? Tonight, he had Trent & Hendo on the sideline champing at the bit, and he could have put them to good use stopping Poland on their last ditch press. But no.

"Rio Ferdinand says gay male player told him he was advised not to come out by lawyer"
[quote]Rio Ferdinand has revealed a gay male player who came out publicly told him that he had been advised by a lawyer not to do so. Ferdinand gave evidence to a joint committee of MPs and peers on Thursday morning listening to views on the draft Online Safety Bill, designed to tackle the scourge of online abuse.
[quote]The former England and Manchester United defender spoke about the impact of online racist abuse, but when the session turned towards issues around homophobia, he said: āIāve just met currently a player who had come out, and he was advised by a lawyer not to come out and speak.
That's very sad but understandable. Can't help but wonder who it is though

R127 very interesting, on several levelsānot least that the mystery player was willing to be so open with professional gobshite and rude cunt Rio of all people. The player canāt be that arsed about hiding his sexuality if heās going round telling pundits.
That said, if the remarks about closeting and homophobia came off the back of a wider private discussion with Rio about racism, are we safe in assuming that the player in question is POC? Sounds like it. The player agreeing to talk to Rio also implies to me that he is someone not entirely hostile to the Manchester United camp (so, not a Liverpool or Man City player/native), and also someone who is quite high in the game with at least a bit of clout (i.e. not a total newcomer or a junior recently promoted).
If I had to take a wild stab, Iād say our man is Dele Alli. Just a intuitive guess, though.

One of the interns at The Athletic has just published a piece about football fanfiction (in particular, writing focused on Jack Grealish), and the fanfic community are not happy.
Well-intentioned and undamning as the article is, the sticking point is that it violates the Fight Club rule. You donāt talk about fanfic outside of the inner fannish circle, and you certainly donāt discuss it or introduce it to the normies. In the case of both RPF/slashfic and of football this is especially crucial, as the straight male non-ficcing fans can become dangerously hostile when it comes to gay or even female-interest content in their sports. The insular nature of fanfic is there to protect vulnerable minority fans.
But this eager young writer has pierced the bubble, for seemingly no good reason. Because to write a mainstream blog post or article about the subject not shining a light on anything, eitherāmost everyone by now knows RPF fanfic exists, and just leaves it alone and doesnāt comment if they arenāt into it or donāt agree with it, which is how it should be. Opening up the topic for civilians is so uncomfortable and unnecesssg.

r144 Do you know if that was Garlands or The Lisbon were Gerard sang? He and his wife Alex who has attended Liverpool gay pride are definitely gay friendly but they do mix in with some rough not to be messed with families and people or at least they did.His wife is very low key these days whilst bringing her family up in Liverpool and he works away in Glasgow. Steven is beloved by Liverpool fans but the rumours about him and he has associated with are very strong locally as I am sure you know.
Yes I agree Liverpool in general is a very gay friendly area?
by Anonymous | reply 166 | October 3, 2021 12:07 AM |
R166 hard to remember now Angel mate (Iām not Scouser myself), but if memory serves Iām pretty sure it was Garlands where Stevie went for drag karaoke. He used to take Crouchy with him sometimes, bet that was a right laugh.
And yeah, Scouse Mafia is a real thing and Steven is sadly mixed up with all that. It was local crimelords who supplied his wife with āļø (before she had her kids!, and who prevented his move to Chelsea during the last years of his career (tragic, reallyāteenage-me desperately wanted to see him & Lampsy on the same team!). Sometimes I wonder if Stevie taking the Rangers job and throwing himself into it so wholeheartedly was partly a convenient way to get away from the Mafia and from Alex (whoās deeper in it than he is) and live in peace by himself.
As for Hendo, even if heās not as good of a player as Stevie, I think heās a miles better Skipper than his mentor/predecessor ever was. Heās also a better ambassador for the club and a better role model for the young players & fans. Plus his face and his body and his accent are sexieršCaptain Hendo superiority!

r167 Hi and thanks Garlands sounds right. The strong rumour in Liverpool is that someone in the underworld threatened him to leave Liverpool for his own good around 2016 2017 and that is why he jumped at the opportunity to move to Glasgow. Something was going on in the background at the time. Someone very volatile in the criminal underworld felt they had cause to ensure he was forced to f*** off from his home city. Within a year or so of Steven Gerard leaving Liverpool his wife started keeping a much lower profile especially in terms of the city's nightlife and the tabloids . One of her previous best friends married into one of these mafia families in 2007 and Steven and Alex attended the wedding According to many who attended the wedding she arrived as high as a kite at her friend's wedding. She wasn't being discrete and was quite openly flaunting that she'd taken some white powder! So she was definitely still taking drugs after she became a mother . But her friends marriage into the top mafia family directly linked her into the Liverpool underworld. I don't know if that friendship is still ongoing. Some say her transformation from social butterfly always in the city's clubs to semi recluse is not so much because of motherhood but because she too was trying to disentangle herself from some of the previous company she'd been keeping and they have antenna everywhere in Liverpool city nightlife. I take it you have heard the rumours about an associate with the nickname pancake?!

R169 ooh Angel that is very juicy! I suspected that was the vague basic story, but I hadnāt heard the rumoured details.
[quote] rumour is that someone in the underworld threatened him to leave Liverpool for his own good around 2016 2017 and that is why he jumped at the opportunity to move. Something was going on in the background at the time. Someone very volatile in the criminal underworld felt they had cause to ensure he was forced to f*** off from his home city.
Now this is the specifics I wanted to get into. The main question that piques me isāwho exactly made these threats, and why? As far as Iāve heard, it could be related to an affair Alex had with one of her dealers (spurious parentage of one of her kids....), or to massive dr*g debts Alex had amounted that Stevie was struggling to pay off (though footballers in the 00s were overpaid, they werenāt making hundreds or millions like they do now). Iām also thinking it could be blackmail over something Stevie was involved withāthereās those pesky little bisexual rumours, arenāt there....
Also curious as to how the MLS situation fits into this narrative, as in 2015-16 Stevie was spending half of his time in America anyway (probably shacked up with Lampsy, which is a whole other story), so why would the Mafia be that concerned about him when he was rarely physically in the area then? Unless he went over there to get the cash they were demanding? Or they were concerned about Alex feeding him incriminating info to build a case against them...
What you said nextāhow āwithin a year or so of Steven leaving Liverpool his wife started keeping a much lower profile especially in terms of the city's nightlife and the tabloidsāāmakes me think that Alex was heavily involved in the decisions made by Stevie during that time, and that the situation was serious enough to go radio silent but not serious enough that he took the wife & kids with him.
[quote] One of her previous best friends married into one of these mafia families in 2007, and Steven and Alex attended the wedding. According to many who attended the wedding she arrived as high as a kite at her friend's wedding. She wasn't being discrete and was quite openly flaunting that she'd taken some white powder! Hmmmmm. So now Iām curious as to when and whether Alex got clean, and what the catalysing event was that prompted her decision to try and cut off the more dangerous associates. It happened before the rise of social media, so clearly not a decision based purely on optics and image. Perhaps she saw or heard something nasty happen to her friend. Neither her nor Stevie seem that bright, so one wonders how fast they cottoned on to the dirty dealings of the people they were mixing with. I just feel sorry for their kids.
[quote]I take it you have heard the rumours about an associate with the nickname pancake?!
No, I have not, but very interested to know!

Didnāt really feature many of the players I wanted to see, but still good content. Fikayo Tomori seems like such a nice humble lad, happy to see him come in to the side. This time Harry Kane was so sweet hugging the arrivals girl that I almost forgave him for being an utter prickāRice & Coady are still nicer than him, though. Grealish is all smiles strolling in, of course, but given his recent form I donāt believe him. How actually does Foden get time for all the haircuts? Tammy Abraham is a handsome guy, looks a bit like Pogba. Tyrone seems down this week for some reason, wonder whatās up? The fact that Pickford calls even women āboysā is so hilarious to me. This seasonās flirty clinches and body worship moments and ballgrabs in training and on pitch have been out of control and I love it

Itās the weekend, and Iām craving updates on the situation between Chilly, Rice & Mase. Last year it was a bit tense and up in the air at certain points, and now everything seems settled (but quiet...)
Have they sorted out their throuple situation? How does the sleep/sex arrangement at St. Georgeās Park work? Has poor anxious Ben calmed down a bit now and stopped trying so hard to ingratiate he knows Deccers aināt going to spark him out for looking at Mase the right way? Has Mason figured out to divide attention between his lads equally, and respect both his oldest and newest relationship? Has Ricecakes managed to make room and let someone else into his heart besides Mase?
(Would ask how Jack is learning to cope without Chillyās full attention, but this season sheās got the City galdem to link up with as well as a man of her own, sošāāļø)

Alex Scott just found out her ancestors owned over two dozen slaves. Oops bitch!
Why is it always such a shock to these people that actually POC have been, can be, and are traffickers & slavers? Whites didnāt even invent slavery, and plenty of white tribal Britons were enslaved and traded.
Could these idiot retired footballers just pick up a book or do a Coursera or watch a documentary on occasion? And could the media stop going to them for informative public content? All I want from a football player is sexiness and sauce on a pitch, then a quiet fall into obscurity.
