Story about two children who run away and hideout in NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Were you a fan of the book or the movie starring Miss Ingrid Bergman?

This movie is sad.

The Goddess Ingrid appearing in children's trash.

I'm sorry, R2, but Ingrid appearing in trash like this diminishes the lustre of her quality film roles and her personal reputation as a good, intelligent (if driven) woman.

The book is deservedly a classic.

The 1995 version with Lauren Bacall has more FLA-VAH.

The book was great. The film... not so much. There was another film version somewhat later. Wasn't it Lauren Bacall?

Back in 1969, my 4th grade teacher in Texas read the book aloud if we were, as she said, "good little buggers". She would read 5 or so pages at a time, and we finished the book in the spring.

This 9yo gayling loved it -- in my mind I longed for the chance to get away from Texas and explore New York City. The large bed in the museum.... the mystery of the potential Michelangelo ... crushed velvet.

I know, Mary!!!

I vaguely remember this movie as a kid in the 70s, but I thought they were locked inside a mall? Or is that a different one?

I loved the book!

I was a fan of the thread we just had on this two months ago.
