Each cast member has a personal producer assigned to coaching them on their stories, opinions, etc. Meghan's is Brian Teta, the executive producer of the overall show. He adores her; he was featured in an AP story years ago gushing about her. He likely defends her and as the show's overall EP, I'm sure what he says goes unless the network itself orders changes.

Given her whole run on the show, which has been miserable and weird and offensive and sad to watch from week one, I would assume she has immunity there—but I've noticed that Ana Navarro has been on more during weekdays recently, and used not to replace Whoopi on Fridays but to replace Meghan on days she is absent. That could signify she is being tested as a replacement for Meghan (FINALLY) to see how her appearances affect ratings. Meghan is the young one and the psychotically partisan Republican, so those are major demographics ABC wants and Ana at this point really is a RINO and she's older—but she is at least sane and tolerable, so I hope ratings hold up when she's on.

Whoopi isn't helping things by constantly farting on the show, and then trying to cover it up with a cough or grunt.

The show is pretty terrible post-COVID. They've never worked out the love feed delays and so they always have awkward pauses and cross-talk. Guest interviews are annoying because every woman has her own assigned question and they can't have an organic conversation with anyone; they each ask their question and then the next one rushes or cuts off the answer so she can get her question in. It's terrible and it would remain terrible without Meghan McCain.

But that said, get rid of her. She's an embarrassment to ABC News. It's still shocking to me that a network like ABC would sacrifice its brand integrity by bringing in a sideshow act like Ragin' McCain.
