Why'd it take so long for a major paper to editorialize it this way?

Is this the best and quickest way forward dealing with Diaper Don?

A million newspapers can call for Trump to be indicted & it still won’t happen.

Theses newspapers endorsed Hillary. It didn’t happen.

They called for Trump to be indicted during & immediately after the Mueller investigation. Didn’t happen.

They called for him to be impeached and convicted. Only half of that happened and the real moral & legal part — conviction—didn’t happen.

They’ve called for all kinds of people to be subpoenaed, interviewed before congress, deposed, indicted, disbarred, removed, confirmed. Didn’t happen.

I wouldn’t get the least bit excited about this. It’s the usual “Just make people think something is going to happen & it will pacify them” American political bullshit.

Nothing is happening to Trump. NYC had 50 years to investigate Trump. Now you think they’re going to do something serious about old tax fraud when the statute of limitations is over? I’ll be surprised if a grand jury does anything, ever. Trump has too much kompromat on others, mostly in the form of bribes he paid them.

The it won't happen troll. If it does happen, it'll be cool. If it doesn't it will be I told you so. You can't lose.

Whether an editorial convinces people to change their minds is secondary. What is important is that the media occupies its place in civic space and discourse.
