by Anonymousreply 605/15/2021

Overvalued.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 705/15/2021

Of course it is overvalued R7. That is not why Redditors are encouraging people to buy the stock.

This is about screwing hedge funds and making money while doing it.

by Anonymousreply 805/15/2021

Haha you were right, op.

The day you said to buy the AMC stock, it was at $12 per share.

Today, it's up to $62 per share.

If I bought 10 shares when you said to buy, I could have made $500.

I should have listened to you.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 906/02/2021

I should add that I would have made $500 in 18 days, if I had listened to OP.

by Anonymousreply 1006/02/2021

From 12 to 60 per share in only 18 days?

Isn't that like a 416% increase???

Damn.

I really could have made some money here.

by Anonymousreply 1106/03/2021

My friend bought 3000 shares when it was $10.

He’s up to $81k

by Anonymousreply 1206/03/2021

Why would anyone be investing in a movie theater company? That business model is D-E-A-D.

by Anonymousreply 1306/03/2021

Wow, you really are clueless aren't you R13?

This has nothing to do with the company itself.

It's all about the short sell!

by Anonymousreply 1406/03/2021

AMC is a dinosaur, as are all traditional movie theaters. Go long if you want to lose your investment. Might as well buy stock in a print newspaper, also.

by Anonymousreply 1506/03/2021

R13 clearly didn't read R12's post.

His friend could sell today and make an $81,000 profit.

Do you understand NOW?

by Anonymousreply 1606/03/2021

They are saying AMC can fly past 1,000. Insane, we've never seen anything like this. AMC stock is of course over valued but that's not the point. We are witnessing the power of the people in action.

by Anonymousreply 1706/07/2021

All My Children is coming back? I've really missed the goings on in Pine Valley and Center City.

by Anonymousreply 1806/07/2021

How much have you made?

by Anonymousreply 1906/08/2021

AMC is up to $57 a share

Gamestop is up to $287 a share

by Anonymousreply 2006/08/2021

I bought 21 shares at $10.75. I now have $1225. Not too bad. But then again, I'm the one who made 15 grand on Doge last month so $1225 feels like chump change.

by Anonymousreply 2106/08/2021

Is it too late to get in on the action?

What about CLOV? i have about 130 shares of that. Will it go anywhere?

by Anonymousreply 2206/08/2021

R18 I miss Erica and the bear.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 2306/08/2021

R22, yes CLOV is going to go parabolic, HOLD!

by Anonymousreply 2406/08/2021

R24 Why do folks say that. I bought cause retards on reddit said to, got in at 10 and its at 17 now. How high are we expecting it to go?

by Anonymousreply 2506/08/2021

Movie theaters were supposed to die out in the 1950s when TV sets became popular, then again in the 1980s when people got cable and VHS. It still hasn't happened because if nothing else going to the movies is still a reasonably pleasant way to get out of the house for a couple of hours.

by Anonymousreply 2606/08/2021

what about blackberry? weren't they buying that stock too?

by Anonymousreply 2706/08/2021

[quote]going to the movies is still a reasonably pleasant way to get out of the house for a couple of hours.

Except that it ISN'T "reasonably pleasant" anymore.

by Anonymousreply 2806/08/2021

R24 My CLOV is at 20 a share now! How high will it go?

by Anonymousreply 2906/08/2021

R29, hold and find out. You should have a price point in your head where you want to sell. I'm assuming you want to at least double or triple your money.

It will likely hit $50 a share. Hold

by Anonymousreply 3006/08/2021

what other stocks are you buying?

by Anonymousreply 3106/08/2021

I just bought CLNE. Thoughts? I thought about WISH but I don’t believe in it as much.

by Anonymousreply 3206/08/2021

AMC had gone as high as 70 for a few brief moments a few days ago, do we think it will pass that again?

Anyone getting back in on GME (which is now back over $300)?

I got out of BB at $15 or so having made some money, but it's stayed there around $15 last few days.

Haven't bought BBBY, but did just buy a few CLOV and CLNE and thinking about WISH.

Do any of you take the picks from Motley Fool? They're always saying "don't buy meme stocks, buy and hold for five years" and in the meantime, people who are paying attention are seeing huge gains in a few days, a week, or a month. This morning they were pushing COUP, SFIX, PLBY and a few others.

by Anonymousreply 3306/08/2021

Are you trading with Robinhood?

by Anonymousreply 3406/08/2021

No R34, just my usual platform I've been using since the dawn of time.

AEMD today, wow.

Also looking at GEO and WISH, and GME has pulled up yet again.

AMC seems to be staying within a narrow range around 50.

by Anonymousreply 3506/09/2021

R32, good call on Wish. It's a shitty company and this news item was just released.

Looks like CLNE is a new meme stock pick.

by Anonymousreply 3606/09/2021

And just like that, CLOV is way down if you bought in recently. Wonder if it will turn around?

Is anyone going to try for another round with GME and AMC with both of them down from recent highs too?

by Anonymousreply 3706/10/2021

You are a fucking moron if you rely on a Reddit post to buy stock.

by Anonymousreply 3806/10/2021

Ready for the MOASS.

by Anonymousreply 3906/10/2021

Actually, R38, if you'd simply bought low and sold high on GME and AMC and just casually monitored them in the past few months since the first threads appeared on DL about it (as a result of Reddit), you'd definitely have made a handsome profit and doubled or even tripled your money, depending on when you got in.

Sounds better to me than buying and holding something for years for a 20-30% return.

And more money in the hands of DLers is a good thing...money in the hands of the gays gives us other kinds of social capital that other marginalized groups that don't have the dough don't have.

by Anonymousreply 4006/10/2021

Let me rephrase:

You are a fucking moron if you rely on a DataLounge post to buy stock.

by Anonymousreply 4106/10/2021

These meme stocks are nowhere near done, they are just retracing. Buy the dip.

R38/R41, it's not about "relying" on Reddit or Datalounge, it's about getting the information about hot stocks, and well, Reddit has large and very knowledgeable stock subreddits in actuality. Also, you miss the whole point of meme stocks, people are throwing their money into these stocks aware that they can lose it all because they are HIGHLY volatile. But they are looking for high short term profit and are willing to take the risk, so they time their purchases to get in as low as possible or DCA.

by Anonymousreply 4206/10/2021

"Short squeezes and meme stocks

Traders looking to group together on social media to make quick killings by pushing up share prices of companies at early stages or those going through difficult times have been setting up short squeezes.

Professional investors have traditionally short-sold shares of companies they believe will perform worse than most other investors or analysts expect. Shorting means borrowing a company’s shares and selling them immediately, in the hope of buying them back at a lower price, returning them to the lender and pocketing the difference. If you simply buy a stock hoping it will go up, all you risk is the money you invest. You might get wiped out. But if you short a stock, your risk potential is unlimited. You never know how high the price might rise if you have gotten the trade wrong.

“Covering” a short position is when you buy back the shares to return them to the investor who lent them to you. You are hoping to cover at a lower price than you sold the shares for, to make a profit."

by Anonymousreply 4306/10/2021

And once again - if you'd bought AMC stock on June 10th while it was in the $40s, you could have around a 40% profit selling today (it's at 58).

by Anonymousreply 4406/14/2021

R44 Im still hoping for CLOV to pull through.

by Anonymousreply 4506/14/2021

I'm putting this thread on watch until payday next week.

by Anonymousreply 4606/14/2021

Me too, R45 and I was glad to see some gains on CLNE. I will probably hold it till it at least gets back to its February high.

by Anonymousreply 4706/14/2021

R47 I have some CLNE as well, but I think this is it for the meme stocks for me for now. I got both CLOV and CLNE at 10, and while I regret that I didn’t sell at 27, I think both of these two have long term potential if the squeeze doesn’t happen.

They say that the 18th is some sort of important date for CLOV stock?

by Anonymousreply 4806/14/2021

The thing with meme stocks is get in and get out. Don't be like some of these people who think they are going to stick it to Wall St. Don't hold it forever.
