Who were/are Elizabeth and Phillip's favorite and least favorite children?

Andrew was the best looking of the kids-they were generally a rough looking bunch. So it doesn’t surprise me that the Queen liked him best. I think Anne was her second choice and Philip’s first. She seems to have a better head on her shoulders than the men, although she looks like a she goat.

Neither HM or the DoE had any patience for Charles from the start, and it just got worse with the Diana thing. I don't think there was ever much, if any, rapprochement. Andrew has famously been Elizabeth's favorite. Anne being Philip's, They both skipped past Edward and "adopted" his wife Sophie instead. She was very close to both of them, especially the Queen.

Young Princess Anne was attractive. I realize this is an extremely flattering photo. However, Pinterest is one of the few websites that DL shows previews for, though.

I think Charles is quite intelligent actually. The problem is that he comes across as both a pompous ass and a blubbering sentimentalist at the same time. It's such a weird yin yang he has. But generally I like him. He isn't malicious. His reign will be short enough. And William and Catherine and their kids will be the stars anyhow.

Charles has a cold personality and seems like a dumb navel-gazer. Not as dumb as Harry, but dumb.

Andrew was the Queen's favorite until his divorce, because he was so handsome, and because he teased her and made her laugh.

Charles was their least favorite because he was so sensitive and they didn't understand him. As he got older, he became very spoiled by his friends and hangers-on, and very selfish.

It was a misrepresentation in the press that P{hilip was angry with Edward for not sticking with the Marines. Actually, the reverse was true: Philip is very fond of Edward, and tried to help him leave with the least embarrassment back in the day.

Anne always remained close to her father, but Andrew became more distant to both his parents after his divorce--he pretty much lost his way.

Both parents grew much closer to Charles after he married Camilla because he was nicer, and because he was called upon to help the Queen as she's become so old and he's proven to be very good at it.

Both parents adore Sophie (she's their ideal daughter-in-law--she's kind and she's helpful and she doesn't crave attention, and Philip always liked that she's pretty), and she brought the Queen and Edward much closer together in the last thirty years or so.

The Princess Royal is the only one I have any respect for. Her brothers are high-strung morons and Andrew is a sleaze on top of it all.

Lizzie doesn’t like any of the slave kids that Phillip fathered during the war. She feels that they are much too dark looking.

Phillip doesn’t like the three kids that Lizzie had with Joe Kennedy during the war. They all have strong accents, an addiction to booze, and somehow have all of their original teeth, unlike Phillip.

Andrew was the favorite for many years. He was very handsome and gregarious when he was younger, military man, dashing. He should have hit the gym and continued. I still think he's the favorite of the queen. She's not switching horses at this stage in her life, but he has disappointed her.

No matter who was the favorite, Anne was always the most dependable and dutiful and probably Philip's favorite. Charles was a pompous, cheating asshole when married to Diana. Andrew remained the queen's favorite. The heart likes what the heart likes. Edward was never mentioned as anyone's favorite. I thought maybe they would have a soft spot for the youngest, but who knows.

Anne was Phil's fave and Andrew is the Queen's.

The Queen doesn't care about Andrew's sex trafficking problems; she barely understands them. In her mind, he had a social affair and invited party girls. That's what men of Andrew status do. That's why she had him retire from public life but kept him on the payroll. If current events are any indication, Andrew understood it to be a temporary withdrawal from public life.

We must not forget that the Queen really WANTED Andrew--she wanted another child when everyone thought she was done. So it's hardly surprising that he's her favorite.

Andrew is supposedly fathered by Lord Porchester - maybe, apparently the likeness comes through more in the York girls. I can't blame Phil for favouring Anne though, she's great. I've always felt a bit sorry for Edward, he's such a nerd - I remember in the 80's when he wanted to be a thespian and made the royals do 'Its a Knockout' which was a British Saturday night TV show that was a sort of cross between Gladiators and Takeshi's Castle. It was dreadful. Really bad press followed. Then he took up with Sophie and redeemed himself.

Possibly, but considering that whole lot are a bunch of shirt tale relatives (worse than some WV holler), how can you really tell? He definitely favors Elizabeth's side of the family, but the image of all of them walking behind Philip's coffin - balding, paunchy with bags on their eyes clearly demonstrated they're brothers. Charles & Anne are undoubtedly brother & sister, but you wouldn't necessarily know that standing beside each other by not only their appearance but the way they carry themselves.

While watching the funeral on Saturday I was thinking that this is all very anachronistic and seems artificial. Despite that I still have a certain amount interest in the RF. Maybe just the really big events, and the kids.
