I'm 29, which explains why I don't know the musicians I listed above: FM, PJ and 2Pac were popular before my time while Miss Grande Latte hit it big around the same time I stopped caring about the mass-produced Hot 100 crap. I also couldn't care less about 70s rock music and 90s rap so I never bothered checking out the music by those people.

Even someone in their 20s should be familiar with a few Fleetwood Mac songs, they're still played all the time.

I know some songs by current pop stars like Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande, but I couldn't tell you the proper titles of any of their songs. I just hear them in places like the gym and standing in line at various retail places.

To know songs by these artists you have to listen to the radio. Radio is all corporate now so you have to listen to what the big labels and the radio corporations decide you'll listen to. I really can't listen to it so there's gaps in my knowledge. I know songs by the current artists I like.

R31 -- Take a listen to Barbra's 'The Way We Were', it's one of the great songs of the late 1960s. A friend of mine was tripping on acid and I was completely greened out on pot, we had an amazing moment together hearing that song in an alternate headspace. They knew what they were doing back then.

Drake, Cardi B., Megan thee Stallion, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Nas X, any Kpop group for sure. I am looking at the current "Hot 100" and I have not heard of over half these people...Olivia Rodrigo, Silk Sonic, Rod Wave, etc.

I like The Weeknd, and can tolerate Kali Uchis, Doja Cat, and Dua Lipa. Unfortunately I know some of Billie Eilish's music (horrid). But mostly I stay blissfully ignorant of what passes for popular music now.

r40 the artists you listed are good examples of disposable acts who will most likely be gone within three years. That's what the music business is now. It's mostly producer-driven now, artists are secondary and have a short shelf life. We're never going to see another Madonna or Prince anytime soon.
