Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said people will “likely” need a third dose of a Covid-19 vaccine within 12 months of getting fully vaccinated. He also said it’s possible people will need to get vaccinated against the coronavirus annually.

by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 16, 2021 6:27 AM |
Can't they just mix it in with the annual flu shot?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 16, 2021 6:37 AM |
Fuck it! Just fucking infect me as I'm not fat, old, and weak. I can have fucking immunity and get over with this pandemic shit. People in my neck of the woods die more from road accidents, much much more, and they don't lose their shit over those deaths. But now with only 100 COVID deaths in the past year and they are petrified shitless. TOO MUCH!!!

Even if you get covid, like most coronaviruses, the immunity won't last long.

The future looks dark indeed. Vaccine passports, no cash, 5G controlling your every move, drone armies surveilling, social credit scores to access anything. Glad I'm old.

The covid agenda stopped being about a virus months ago.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 16, 2021 7:30 AM |
My doctor figured something like this would be the case.
No different than the annual flu shot, really. Maybe they'll be able to combine it with the flu shot the way they combine the flu/pneumonia shot for old people??
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 16, 2021 7:30 AM |
[Quote] Why is the CEO of some drug corporation announcing this, instead of our own government?
It’s Pfizer’s vaccine, not the govt’s.
I wonder if the govt will pay for future shots like they are paying for the current ones

Every medical professional has been saying this. It's why the claims that we could reach "herd immunity" just by letting the virus run its course were always foolish and ignorant. There is no "herd immunity" for seasonal flus or even the common cold, so why would this coronavirus be any different?

R11 Glad I grew up in the 1960s and partied in the 70s.

R22 Exactly. Let those who take the vaccine return to normal life and those who can't or choose not assess for themselves what amount of risk they are comfortable with.

[quote]Since the 2019 coronavirus is related to the original coronavirus that caused SARS and can also cause severe acute respiratory syndrome, there is “SARS” in its name: SARS-CoV-2. Much is still unknown about these viruses, but SARS-CoV-2 spreads faster and farther than the 2003 SARS-CoV-1 virus. This is likely because of how easily it is transmitted person to person, even from asymptomatic carriers of the virus.
Sooner or later, most likely sooner, there will be another coronavirus outbreak.
I wonder if they've ever studied the ability of the human body to continue to create an immune response to viruses through vaccines. Is there a limit on the number of vaccines a person can have? We already get so many vaccines, it's got to be a matter of time before our immune systems cannot react effectively.

Fauci has said that the majority of those who get infected with Covid after getting the vaccine experience no symptoms. Our objective should be to reduce deaths and hospitalizations. It sounds more and more like Covid is something we're just going to have to live with. We also have an obligation to protect the mental health of our citizens and stabilize the economy.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 16, 2021 6:16 PM |

[quote]Fauci has said that the majority of those who get infected with Covid after getting the vaccine experience no symptoms.
Actually, I was suggesting that a new coronavirus will emerge for which this vaccine will be useless - just as covid-19 is a new coronavirus different from the original SARS outbreak from 2003. Both COVID-19 and SARS are caused by coronaviruses.
Symptoms of the novel coronavirus strain are milder than SARS and MERS, but it transmits from human-to-human faster than them. Besides, the mortality rate of SARS-CoV-2 is lower (3.4%) than that of SARS-CoV (9.6%) and MERS (35%).

This is not news. Because the Nazis refuse to do the minimum to protect others, the virus will always be with us.
Hopefully it will mutate into something more deadly and kill off all the anti-vaxxers.
Only then will we be rid of it.
In the meantime, we have to deal with the Nazis whining on here, in their attempts to kill as many of us as possible.

Pfizer CEO said boosters may be needed. Unlikely 1) T cell immunity from vax (and Abs) work against variants; 2) T cells last long time- 34 y & counting after measles vax; 3) 1st SARS recovered have T cells 17 yr later; 4) Covid Vax generate memory B cells (lymph node biopsy)
So, to back up each claim (I have longer thread on this) 1) T cell immunity from vax works against variants: I hope you have been persuaded 2) T cells last 34 years and counting after measles vaccine:

R34 That's a crude way to put it but in essence I agree. I got Covid months back despite taking every precaution. If I didn't already get it, I would've gotten the vaccine by now. I trust others will decide for themselves what risk level they are comfortable with. If they decide not to get the vaccine despite having no medical excuse, it's not my responsibility.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | April 16, 2021 6:49 PM |
Meh - I am fully onboard with getting an annual vaccine if the CDC and the pharmaceutical-industrial-medical nexus tells me I need to.
It would be convenient if they could combine it with the annual flu shot, though.

It will end up being much like the flu. Some people will get sick and some will have serious complications. But most people will be unaffected if they get their annual shot and stay away from people who are sick.

R50 there is an irony in that the states with the most draconian measures having the worst infection rates and a governor, who gave daily press conferences about the science hiding the number of deaths and woke companies getting rich off of peoples isolation as small businesses shut down. And finally the us becoming even more dependent on China who keep mocking us on the world stage. They certainly couldn’t have written a better script.

The states shouldn't have been managing this on their own. There should have been one coordinated nationwide response by the federal government. Of course Donald Dump was a giant failure who couldn't even run a casino, let alone the government.

R52 I disagree. Some states were in more urgent need of distribution than others. Populations also vary from state to state. There was a coordinated effort but several states didn't even make use of the resources they were given which was a failure on their part.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case. The less vaccinated people there are, the more the virus can spread and mutate causing variants that will eventually be vaccine-resistant.
I wish it was as easy as saying, “I’m vaccinated so I can’t get it. I don’t care if you get vaccinated or not.”

China and Russia flooded social media boards convincing idiot Americans not to wear face masks and fight any pandemic response measures with the intent wipe out as many Americans as possible. Same with vaccines. Fucking Americans fell for it hook, line, and sinker and are still jerking off to their Red Dawn fantasies. They can’t see this is how new modern warfare is played, probably because there hasn’t been a Hollywood movie made to spoon feed the idea to them yet, and we all know they don’t have the cognitive facilities to figure it out on their own.

I'm cool with that an annual Covid shot, just like the annual flu shot, no biggie. I wish there was a way to combine it all into one shot, but that is probably impossible. Now, I'm just counting down to when the CDC says that we can stop the masks and social distancing.
