Watched this one last night and I've now seen all the best picture nominees. I don't get the critical love for this at all. It fails at most of the basic tenets of good movies. There is no character arc for the protagonist (in fact we never learn anything about him). There is no character to care about. The acting is fine, of course, but it's just like a Wikipedia version of what happened and then the movie ends, along with the now obligatory real life footage and titles telling us what happened to the characters. Blah.

Daniel Kaluuya does a really job in this movie and helps carry it.
Stanfield however does not deserve his nomination.
