What is taking the Manhattan DA so long to charge Trump????
Report: Trump Wants DeSantis As 2024 Running Mate
by Anonymous | reply 106 | April 13, 2021 3:09 PM |
Matt Gaetz will be their Secretary of Sleaze.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 11, 2021 8:39 PM |
Running? Running from what?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 11, 2021 8:46 PM |
R2, I don’t know but those two fatasses can’t run very far.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 11, 2021 8:48 PM |
DeSantis will likely be the nominee but he’s an idiot if he signs on with Trump or Pence. He fails miserably on that ticket.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 11, 2021 8:49 PM |
OP - Financial crimes can take longer to prosecute because there's so much evidence that needs to be examined. Also, these crimes happened in the past so there's a lot of digging to do.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 11, 2021 8:50 PM |
It will either be Trump or DeSantis at the top of the ticket in 2024. All depends on if Trump wants to pass the mantle or try again. He'll probably wait to see how the midterms go. If the Republicans gain back both chambers then the election won't matter in 2024-they will be able to choose who wins.
We are in serious, serious trouble if dems lose the house in 2022.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 11, 2021 8:51 PM |
I think this decade will be sad.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 11, 2021 8:57 PM |
DeSantis is HORRIBLE, but he's a really good politician. Obviously no one can predict how things will be in four years but we laugh and dismiss DeSantis at our own peril. He will be a formidable candidate.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 11, 2021 8:57 PM |
I hate this. We're getting a little break now.. that's all. It's not over.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 11, 2021 9:04 PM |
This is what I see happening: John James will win Michigan (despite losing twice) in 22; DeSantis will win 24. Both Trump Republicans.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 11, 2021 9:05 PM |
Those two, hell even just DeathSantis, will turn America into an utter Wasteland if successful. 2022 better not shit the bed!
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 11, 2021 9:07 PM |
People who are waiting for the Manhattan DA or the SDNY to save us from Trump are kidding themselves. Trump is not going to prison. All the crimes he's being investigated for are financial crimes that tie up the courts for years and no one ever goes to jail for financial crimes. Trump will likely be dead before that whole investigation is complete. And it doesn't matter anyway, the people who vote for him don't give a shit about any criminal charges or financial crimes.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 11, 2021 9:08 PM |
Democrats had better drop this woke shit and fast! I demand it!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 11, 2021 9:08 PM |
R5...NY has spoken about this investigation for some time. How much more time do they need?? Another Muller type bullshit baloney.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 11, 2021 9:09 PM |
NY made it sound like they got the goods on trump...so where are they??
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 11, 2021 9:09 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 11, 2021 9:11 PM |
I wouldn’t get too worked up about 2024. A lot of water under the bridge till then. But I’ll bet Internet money Trump will not be on any ticket in 2024. He won’t be in jail either because if found guilty he’ll keep the appeals going for years. Wait patiently until the law suits that will consume him commence.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 11, 2021 9:11 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 11, 2021 9:11 PM |
This DeSantis is worse than Trump, yes?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 11, 2021 9:13 PM |
R13: Absolutely. Wokeness is why the Democratic Party is vulnerable and they never learn their lesson: go woke go broke. I'm particularly worried if Biden is history by 2024 and it's Kamala v. DeSantis.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 11, 2021 9:13 PM |
how is trump still news when biden is president?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 11, 2021 9:14 PM |
Trump will not run again if there is any chance that he could lose. He will only run if it's assured that state legislators and congress will be able to orchestrate any result they want. So far that's the case with Georgia. We'll see if that law holds up and what other states follow their lead.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 11, 2021 9:14 PM |

Georgia will be the bellweather on if states can do pretty much what they want with election rules...especially the red states.

It's a monumental task to defeat an incumbent president, unless the economy is in shambles(Carter), or they are embroiled in scandal(Trump), which is why it almost never happens.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 11, 2021 9:21 PM |
For R24 : R19 is probably not anti-gay, “only” anti-trans. That’s a very popular stance here on DL which I do not espouse.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 11, 2021 9:23 PM |
R24, that’s correct - the trans-hating freaks hate the T so much that they would rather see *all* of us deprived of civil rights.
They’re *that* depraved.

Trump is going to be the downfall of the Republican party. He will not win in 2024. And yet, if he's not at the top of the ticket, he's going to be swiping at them Non-Stop. It's going to be a delicious shit show to watch.
Now, can we not talk about him until 2024?

by Anonymous | reply 44 | April 11, 2021 9:34 PM |
Let Tish James and Cy Vance, the Georgia grand juries, and Merrick Garland slowly gather evidence and build rock solid cases against the Dump Crime Syndicate. The longer time goes by (and I'm talking months not years), it'll give Dump and his family a false sense of security, like they're getting away with it like they've always done. Then, BLAM!, an unexpected 6AM no knock raid on MAG-A-LARDO with Diaper Don pulled out in the front lawn to be handcuffed and humiliated.
(I know this most likely won't happen but a boy can dream!)

I've been listening to him speak lately..... and he's very interesting. DeSantis has to be the slickest right-wing major politician I've ever heard. Trump's policies without the unhinged anger. Dems should be worried.

Reports say that Trump still has a strong grip on the Republican Party.
Probably, by the balls.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 11, 2021 9:39 PM |
DeSantis just barely won the governor's race in 2018 by less than half a percentage point. Since then the rest of the country has watched him mishandle Florida's response to COVID. Why would he be a shoo-in for president in 2024?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 11, 2021 9:43 PM |
R51 Also didn't Florida just have some radioactive sewage pond bust loose last week? An environmental disaster in a state heavily dependent on tourism won't play well in campaign ads. Not to mention selling covid vaccines to out-of-state donors. Plus there could be more to come out in the Matt Gaetz investigation and DeSantis was buddy-buddy with Matt. I wouldn't get too worked up over him as a Presidential candidate. Besides Joe would kick his ass in a debate, like he did with Trump, Paul Ryan, and Sarah Palin.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 11, 2021 9:46 PM |
R51 That was the year of the blue wave, and he still won. Now he should have the advantage of incumbency and of it not being a blue wave year.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 11, 2021 9:49 PM |
Because unless Biden is still available the Democrats will be running a non-white female from California with...who knows who the Far Left will insist on. All the reasons Joe won will be GONE with a Kamala/Far Left ticket but that's what we'll probably get stuck with. Even if the Economy is going well, the election was too close.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 11, 2021 9:55 PM |
But thing is that Kamala was never far-left. She reminded me a lot of Geraldine Ferraro, who I love.

I didn't know Cuomo was a registered nurse! No wonder he did so well with Covid. Well, after the nursing home bit.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 11, 2021 10:04 PM |
So the naysayers are now saying Kamala is a far left wacko? I thought she was supposed to be a cop arresting people for minor pot violations. You trolls need to get your stories straight.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 11, 2021 10:27 PM |
Sorry R54 but in 2008 a non-white with less experience than Kamala won the EC handily.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 11, 2021 10:29 PM |
I'm sure Trump gets off on humiliating Pence by not wanting him for a second term VP.
I don't mind it so much myself.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | April 11, 2021 10:46 PM |
2024 is a long time off.
Especially if you're a morbidly obese 75 year old man with an unhealthy lifestyle and a whole lot of anger and stress.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | April 11, 2021 10:49 PM |
It would be to the benefit of Democrats to drop the woke. This will infuriate the Yaas Kweens, but Democrats can tell them to fuck off. Democrats losing the House and probably some Governor races and DeSantis winning in 24 will only embolden the Yaas Kweens, which is what I absolutely don’t want. The goal is to get rid of Yaas Kweens and Republicans.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 11, 2021 10:53 PM |
R55/R57 I read R54 as Kamala will be the nominee - but will be saddled with a far-left vp candidate to appease the fringe left/bernie-bro/wokesters. Not that Kamala is far-left.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 11, 2021 11:01 PM |
If that happens R62, that’s sad because then both Republicans and the woke win. The woke will multiply like gremlins and you’ll have even more Yas Kweens than before and life will be absolute hell.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | April 11, 2021 11:05 PM |
DeSantis won't settle for VP, he wants President.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 11, 2021 11:29 PM |
Yes, 62, that's what I meant. I'm sorry that I was un-clear. Thank you for explaining it.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | April 12, 2021 12:00 AM |
Dump will be too old by then but he will hang in there for the cult's attention and the grifting opportunities!
It seems like DeSantis will be the next GOP Presidential candidate according to what all the media talking heads are saying.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | April 12, 2021 12:12 AM |
R59 - are we really sure that Pence would even want to be Dump's VP again?
Remember the gallows they built and Dump encouraging them to "Hang Mike Pence!" between the line? And then afterwards, they didn't speak for a long time after the insurrection? 8 days wasn't it? The writing is on the wall. There's no way Pence would do it even if VP was offered and I don't think Dump would offer VP to Pence.

R80, I'm talking about the handwringers who say nothing except to prophesy doom in '22 (or '24, or '26...). And those who give a one-sided view of the facts on the ground aren't much better.
As in 2018 and 2020, WE have the numbers. Focus on defeating the Republicans' suppression and getting the votes out, as in 2018 and 2020.

by Anonymous | reply 87 | April 12, 2021 7:23 AM |
R82 Just keep doing popular things like stimulus, minimum wage, and infrastructure and don't do unpopular things like trans bathrooms & amnesty.
The Republican brand is getting more toxic by the day, but people will vote for them if the Dems go overly woke.
Just my two cents.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | April 12, 2021 7:32 AM |
Biden didn’t win because of woke politics. Covid helped Biden win. If Covid hadn’t happened and the economy had remained on pace, Trump would have won. The woke politics lost Dems congressional seats and kept them from winning the senate on election night. Some here are so blinded by their party affiliation to realize woke politics is a losing issue for Dems. Democrats have said it themselves. I voted for Biden, but the woke stuff is alienating me.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | April 12, 2021 7:38 AM |
With Vance retiring as prosecutor and the mess Cuomo has manged to create for himself the optimism about NY prosecutions are overly optimistic. It seems like 2 odd coincidences. If Cuomo is replaced by a GOP governor, he CAN pardon Trump for any NYS offenses no matter what the AG does.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | April 12, 2021 7:58 AM |
The Democrats have both houses...but just barely, with the Senate...and they lost Congressional seats, but still hold the majority. To me, that's not a good sign. trump lost because many (saner) repubs voted against him, but still down voted for republicans. I know...it's a hard truth and I don't like it either. I agree that covid really hurt trump. Otherwise, I think he would have won.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | April 12, 2021 11:16 AM |
R67, are you crazy?
That spineless weasel would bend over forwards if trump told him to. He didn’t do shit after the insurrection and still—to this day—supports him.
Of course he’d be VP if asked.

I don’t get this line of thinking and it was around in January.
He lost the election. He was leaving the White House one way or another, quietly or noisily. There would be no incentive to make a deal for what he had no choice but to do.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | April 12, 2021 11:41 AM |
And DeSantis is so fucking dumb he probably thinks him being Jabba's running mate in 2024 is really going to happen. He's not smart enough to see this is just part of Trump's massive con game to grift more money from other idiots who believe anything that comes out of Trump's pie hole.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | April 12, 2021 11:48 AM |
Neither of these two have any future in the White House. Mary Trump says that her uncle Donald will never actually run again, because losing one time was too painful and he could never put himself in a position to have it happen to him again. However, he will FUNDRAISE, because that's the best money he's ever made in his life. He'll tease a candidacy for as long as he can to keep the $$$ coming in from the suckers.
By the time the final body count is in from the Florida Covid experience, Ron DeSantis will be just another filthy memory.

Florida senator and possible 2024 presidential candidate Rick Scott presented Trump with the National Republican Senatorial Committee's "Champion for Freedom" award today.
This comes following a weekend in which Trump called Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell a "dumb son of a bitch" and a "stone-cold loser."

Actually, every single one of the 99 Dem congresspeople who ran on single payer healthcare won and 101 of the 106 who ran on a Green New Deal won. So “woke” politics was a winner for Dems.
