Might media be better presented by fewer magazines with better writers?

I mean at least they are admitting it, they don't want everyone to be able to vote. That is mantra of the right, stopping non-white people from voting.

As others have pointed out there seems to be a concerted movement among the current Republicans to make the case that we are a Federation and NOT a Democracy.

Somewhat related: as much as you can stand it, listen to the language around the Derek Chauvin expected verdict. I believe the right is either planning to instigate violence or create such themselves.

Thing is, r8, Biden won most of the counties with highly educated voters. Education is not what they have in mind when they speak of “better” voters.

Having only the highly educated elite vote would eliminate most Trump voters and a big portion of Democratic voters.

Not advocating for such a practice, but most voters are poorly informed on the issues, may vote based just on a single issue, don't think critically, and couldn't pass a 7th grade civics test.

If you actually read the article, rather than relying on OP, it's somewhat tongue in cheek and meanders through many of the points that early opponents of democracy made: that the majority of people are stupid and will vote for policies that don't hang together, e.g, lower taxes but higher government spending, and he points out that slavery would still be legal if there had been a referendum on it in 1861.

It continues to meander and really doesn't make any points--at the beginning he grumbles about people having to fill out 1040s to pay taxes so why not fill something out to vote, but then notes that intelligent 16 year olds might reach better decisions than people much older than them....

Seemed hastily put together without much of a point and a few snarky comments at the front.
