Do it. It will boost the economy.

Fox News did a segment on this yesterday, and said, "Canceling student debt leaves taxpayers on the hook" & I'm like, "so you're admitting the government is dependent on this "income"? I think pretty soon the "where do my federal student loan payments go?" question will be laid bare and answered, and people will NOT be thrilled. As more and more people share stories of their debt repayment, where they have already paid the government an amount that equals the full principal balance.....yes that's right. Our government is profiting off us. It's disgusting. They don't want to admit it. They'd rather just erase their mistake.

I think they should just remove all interest and give back the interest paid by everyone in the last 40 years through a tax credit. That's the only fair thing to do. If you were stupid enough to take out $150,000 in loans to get an art history degree from some boutique college in the middle of Vermont, that's your problem because you're a fucking idiot. The people who acted responsibly should not be punished for being responsible.

What happened to the interview just after he was sworn in? A reporter asked Biden how we would pay for this and all of a sudden he was like “we’re not gonna do it!” I’m all for the cancellation of student debt, but Biden seems to keep flip flopping on this. I sense he is for debt forgiveness/cancellation, but there is some moral argument against it (which makes no sense to me, but I digress).

Does the U.S. want an educated upwardly mobile workforce or do they want to transform higher education into adult daycare for children of privilege?

I have 20k in debt left. I was going to try and pay it off soon. Guess I should wait.
