Matt Gaetz reportedly sought a pre-emptive blanket pardon from Trump

Soooo not surprised.

Strange that I agree with Trump on something--no pardon for you, BabyGaetz
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 7, 2021 1:18 AM |
isn't this a crime?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 7, 2021 2:07 AM |
And yet he's as innocent as a newborn babe. Whatever would the pardon be for?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 7, 2021 2:11 AM |
Go to jail. Do not pass go.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 7, 2021 2:33 AM |
Gitmo for the ugly mofo.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 7, 2021 5:11 AM |
Has he claimed that Trump issued a secret pardon for him yet? No, you can't see it. If he showed it to you it wouldn't be a secret.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 7, 2021 5:16 AM |
There's no way to know if there is a pocket pardon out there for him and all the other fuckers. We could go to try them and they all produce pocket pardons. Maybe that's what is taking so long for the AG and Justice Department to go after the Congresspeople who aided the insurrection on January 6th. They are trying to figure out or work around Trump's fucking mess.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 7, 2021 5:19 AM |
There are no pocket pardons. They would have to be registered with the DOJ—otherwise anyone could create a piece of paper with a “pardon” on it. And the DOJ would have released then info once Biden got elected. Or made them “disappear.”

I’ll give him a blanket- to hide that hideous face.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 7, 2021 5:39 AM |
And he got it too. That’s why this was leaked today. There’s nothing to keep Trump from issuing a blanket pardon to all his congressional supporters or at least the ones willing to pay him for one. Matt could have committed any crime and the pardon apply, even raping a minor. It’s sick and the concept of the pardon is bullshit and especially the secret pardon is an outrage.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 7, 2021 5:39 AM |
Can a president just give someone a blanket pardon for anything illegal they might have ever done?
Doubtful
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 7, 2021 5:53 AM |
Sadly that's what Ford did for Nixon. It could have come out that Nixon murdered someone and it wouldn't have mattered.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 7, 2021 6:22 AM |
Who gets Nestor in the divorce settlement?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 7, 2021 6:23 AM |
Trump got confused and pardoned Eddie Munster instead of Matt Gaetz.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 7, 2021 7:03 AM |
R11, did you not read the post above? There aren’t any pocket pardons. The DOJ must be informed, and the pardon registered, or else anyone can put a “pardon” on paper. It’s like having a notary public sign off. Any pardon not registered with the DOJ wouldn’t be valid. And if there were pocket pardons, you would bet we would have heard about them, and the DOJ would be handing off evidence to the state to prosecute.
Even Dump sources said they didn’t even consider any pardons for Gaetz.

Awe, poor Matty. All that Trump asslicking and no pardon! He even publicly said Tiffany was hot!
He was really busting his hump with that last one, lol
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 7, 2021 2:12 PM |
I think he needed an under the blanket pardon.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 7, 2021 2:52 PM |
In accepting a pardon, you admitting guilt...Matty knew that, eventually, he'd be exposed as the criminal he is (and HAS BEEN for years).
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 7, 2021 5:14 PM |
It's amusing to me that after all the Trump asslicking, there's been no public outpouring of support from the Trump family for Matt Gaetz.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 7, 2021 5:17 PM |
Who are these congressional allies Matt sought a blanket pardon for? And why? The country must know this.
"It would be really interesting to know who those allies were and if they understood that they were part of this request and maybe Congress should investigate because it's something of an admission of guilt if you're asking the White House to pardon you for unspecified crimes."

Matt Gaetz IS a wet blanket.

Fucking Hillary and Soros!!!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 7, 2021 6:31 PM |
Have we heard from Nestor yet? Does he have an accent like Ricky Ricardo? Does Matt have some 'splainin' to do?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 8, 2021 2:23 PM |
Not just for crimes while in office either. Gaetz wanted a "Get out of jail free for anything you might have done, ever" pardon.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 8, 2021 3:56 PM |
What’s the money angle? There’s got to be a money angle. Follow the money.

[quote]It's amusing to me that after all the Trump asslicking, there's been no public outpouring of support from the Trump family for Matt Gaetz.
Maggie Haberman told CNN that Trump had really wanted to defend Gaetz, but that he was told to stand down because the allegations against Gaetz were so serious.
"His first impulse was that he wanted to defend Gaetz, you know, 'He's one of our people,'" Haberman said. "Several of his advisors had told him that's a very bad idea, that the nature of what Gaetz is being investigated for is so serious that this is not something that former President Trump should be out there on a limb" for.
Indeed, the silence from Trumpworld was deafening in the days following The Times' revelation about the Gaetz sex probe. Some within the former president's orbit even celebrated the controversy, with one former White House staffer telling Insider last month, "He's the meanest person in politics."

Why should that bother Trump? Matt’s crimes would pale in comparison. No, Maggie, no. More likely, trump is trying to make a buck and selling his support.

People are saying that there is something big getting ready to come out.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 8, 2021 11:47 PM |
The Daily Beast writer is on Chris Hayes' show now, and he says they have many more of Gaetz's and Greebberg's Venmo records they’re going through now. A lot more to come!

MG was hoping for The Presidential Medal of Freedom with the hot Tiffany statement.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | April 9, 2021 12:24 AM |
I just want the most horrible, dreadful things in the world for Gaetz. Is that wrong?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | April 9, 2021 12:45 AM |
Please let this bring down more loathsome Florida rethugs
by Anonymous | reply 35 | April 9, 2021 2:48 AM |
Trump never wanted to defend Gaetz.....that fool can't be talked OUT of anything that he wants to do.
I'd call the statement a face saver, but.....that face!
