There are a lot of Bernie nutcases on here, OP. Many of us find Pete to be an exceptional role model, and a great representative for the gay community. Drag queens, porn stars, and Andy Cohen as gay representation was getting a little old and played out. Plus, it just makes me happy to watch him work. He's smart, engaging, and one day will be our president.

To expand on what I wrote at R2, I suspect a lot of DLers are a combination of older men whose careers were held back because they were gay or men of all ages who blame their setbacks on the fact that they're gay and so when they see someone who is out and still manages to be successful it enrages them.
