American Horror Story Season 10: WTF?

I'll always love Leslie for Mary Cherry, but dear god, what is this? And Culkin doesn't need to work, allegedly.

Murphy on Wednesday posted a photo from the show’s Provincetown, Mass. set, offering a glimpse at Leslie Grossman and AHS newcomer Macaulay Culkin in some fine furs. “Something wicked this way comes,” Murphy captioned his photo, implying that Grossman and Culkin’s characters could have somewhat nefarious intentions. (On this show? Color us shocked.)

In typical AHS fashion, little is known about Season 10 (which is reportedly filming under the name “Pilgrim”) at the moment, save for the horrific beachy imagery Murphy has shared on social media.

Macaulay needs to play John Waters in something.

by Anonymousreply 1March 10, 2021 5:50 PM

at least Evan Peters is back.

by Anonymousreply 2March 10, 2021 5:50 PM

What a strange coincidence.

(Fake) Fur hats the latest fashion trend?

Culkin doesn't [italic]need[/italic] to act to pay his bills, but he is an actor, and like most people with a lot of money he needs to do something with his life if he's not going to waste it dingo drugs (which is what he did for years). He genuinely looks handsome in that photo--he has a beautiful face with a nice square jaw, but his problem has always been as an adult that he's too thin. It's hard to see because he's wearing the coats, but it looks like he's finally been working out a little.

I doubt I will watch this because I really cannot stand Leslie Grossman--she's like the hyperaggressive, bossy women I tried to get away from in college.

by Anonymousreply 4March 10, 2021 5:52 PM

a dingo ate my drugs!

R4 I know, but I figured he'd be more like Daniel Radcliffe for Harry Potter. Not everything he's done has been GOOD, but it's always been interesting. Coming out of hibernation, for lack of a better word, for AHS Season 10 seems an odd choice.

by Anonymousreply 7March 10, 2021 6:00 PM

Short hair suits Culkin

by Anonymousreply 8March 10, 2021 6:01 PM

Nothing Murphy has given Leslie in the years since has matched Mary Cherry

I just watched Season 1 ("Murder House") again, for the first time since it was broadcast. It was great--and every subsequent season jsut goes downhill more and more.

Ryan Murphy never knows when to quit and move on.

by Anonymousreply 10March 10, 2021 6:05 PM
Not everything he's done has been GOOD, but it's always been interesting. Coming out of hibernation, for lack of a better word, for AHS Season 10 seems an odd choice.

Well, keep in mind that Radcliffe never took a break from performing--as soon as the films ended he was doing things like How to Succeed on Broadway and The Woman in Black in the movies. Culkin took years and years off, and in Hollywood, how famous you once were for the work you did does not compare to how famous you are now for the work you do in terms of getting more work. Everyone knows Culkin's name, but barely anyone has seen anything he's done as an adult other than "Party Monster," which was an incredibly odd and mannered performance (because Michael Alig was an incredibly odd and mannered man).

I think frankly Culkin is lucky to get this role, and only is getting it because Murphy likes bringing in has-beens.

by Anonymousreply 11March 10, 2021 6:07 PM

Last season (1984) was the first season that was truly awful.

Season 2 (Asylum) is probably my favorite.

by Anonymousreply 12March 10, 2021 6:08 PM

Last season features hottie Gus Kentworthy. I'm a shallow bitch and all in for the hot male eye candy Ryan Murphy entertainment provides. And I love a good old style campy slasher movie.

by Anonymousreply 13March 10, 2021 6:11 PM

Gus looks like a caveman.

by Anonymousreply 14March 10, 2021 6:12 PM

I loathed the second half of Roanoke Island with the torture porn.

I agree Asylum is the best season so far.

by Anonymousreply 15March 10, 2021 6:13 PM

Asylum featured even worse torture porn like Chloe Sevigny's character being disfigured just for being a woman who is honest about her sexual desires or whatever Sarah Paulson's character is put through.

by Anonymousreply 16March 10, 2021 6:16 PM

I tried with 1984 because I LOVE slashers, but it was garbage. And Gus Kenworthy is gorgeous, but his acting skills couldn't power a 30w light bulb. I hope he sticks to sports and looking pretty.

by Anonymousreply 17March 10, 2021 6:17 PM

'1984' made 80s slasher movies look like Kubrick films by comparison.

by Anonymousreply 18March 10, 2021 6:18 PM

Macaulay looks rough. Or is it just make-up?

by Anonymousreply 19March 10, 2021 6:19 PM

R11 fair points. I generally keep an eye on projects from the main Potter kids. Unless they take shopping advice from Johnny Depp, they'll never NEED to work so usually what they do is worth a look.

I loved Murder House and Asylum, hated Coven and Freak Show bored me. When Jessica bounced, I went with her

by Anonymousreply 20March 10, 2021 6:21 PM

How come Ryan Murphy hasn’t brought back the other girl from Popular, the one who was dumped by Melissa Etheridge?

by Anonymousreply 21March 10, 2021 6:22 PM

reminds me of Mary Cherry going hunting for baby seals

by Anonymousreply 22March 10, 2021 6:24 PM

R21 I think she may not want to act anymore. She lives a quiet life with a new wife and kids.

by Anonymousreply 23March 10, 2021 6:25 PM

I may very well be alone on this one, but I think "Cult" might be my favorite season, followed closely by Murder House and Asylum.

"Apocalypse" is probably my least favorite.

by Anonymousreply 24March 10, 2021 6:27 PM

I love Coven & Hotel & 1984. They are camp as fuck. For some reason Cult was difficult for me to go through. Probably because it dealt with US' Deplorable culture which was way too close to reality back then.

by Anonymousreply 25March 10, 2021 6:31 PM

R24 Cult was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was all the clown stuff.

by Anonymousreply 26March 10, 2021 6:33 PM

Cult was a travesty but it was really spot on and foreshadowed the whole Trumpster QAnon freak show.

by Anonymousreply 27March 10, 2021 6:34 PM

Ghost House, Asylum and Coven were great. Freak Show started out like it was going to be the best but fell off the rails more tragically than any other installment. My opinion anyway. Roanoke had its moments, as did Hotel. 1984 was awful in every way.

by Anonymousreply 28March 10, 2021 6:47 PM

Culkin was hilarious in Dollface as the creepy date with an even creepier past.

by Anonymousreply 29March 10, 2021 7:50 PM

Asylum was the most satisfying season for me. I could have done without the whole alien subplot, but I was surprised by how well Murphy paid everything off. The first episode of that season crammed in serial killers, conversion therapy, demonic possession, aliens, and every other horror subgenre you could think of and I thought "dear god, this is gonna be a disaster" and, to my surprise, I found the ending pretty satisfying and the journey was pretty good. He usually introduces 500 different styles and elements into the first 5 episodes and forgets about half of them, never paying most of them off.

Coven is a bitchy drag show and nothing more. I stopped taking it seriously midway through when characters kept dying and coming back, robbing it of any stakes whatsoever. Freakshow began very strong, but as others noted, it dropped off quickly and I still shudder when I think about those random, disconnected episodes involving Neil Patrick Harris for no reason. Once Lange left, there wasn't much need to continue watching.

by Anonymousreply 30March 10, 2021 7:59 PM

Asylum was the most accomplished and fully formed season although I probably liked the characters in Coven more . Cult was the only season I really didn't like.

by Anonymousreply 31March 10, 2021 8:10 PM

Liked Asylum, Freak Show, Roanoke - didn't care for any of the others.

by Anonymousreply 32March 10, 2021 8:53 PM

I like Culkin. He gets a pass from me for doing the Home Alones and for hitting the drugs.

I like him.

by Anonymousreply 33March 10, 2021 9:07 PM

I'm currently watching Ratched on Netflix and it's amazing! I think it's the best thing Murphy has ever done. Far better than any of the AHS seasons. The visuals are absolutely stunning, and you all know that I'm a sucker for pretty packaging. It's a masterpiece!

by Anonymousreply 34March 10, 2021 9:21 PM

I can’t believe this is still on. It should’ve ended six seasons ago. That being said, I love the first four seasons for various reasons. My ranking, though this changes depending on my mood:

Coven

Murder House

Asylum

Freak Show

Yes, that's one thing we all know about you, Anonymous.

by Anonymousreply 36March 11, 2021 12:30 AM

American Horror Story: Freak Show will always be remembered for the fabulous episode "Orphans", probably the best episode EVER of any AHS.

by Anonymousreply 37March 11, 2021 1:37 AM
Last season (1984) was the first season that was truly awful.

You missed HOTEL & ROANOKE?

by Anonymousreply 38March 11, 2021 1:55 AM

I watch four seasons of this shitshow. Cult was probably the best out of all them. There was nothing about them that was "horror", unless you think that ghosts that manifest themselves as physical bodies and stab others to death as horror. "Freaks" had me until Jessica Lange sang 1977's Heroes by David Bowie in 1954's Florida. (Or was it Alabama?)

by Anonymousreply 39March 11, 2021 3:12 AM

This is still one of the most iconic scenes. These bitches were fire together. The levels of Queen Bitchcunt in this were never reached again.

Oh, look!

The Copycat Thread Thief is at it again, stealing this news and thread idea from MY link in the Macaulay Culkin vs. Aaron Carter thread, where I first informed him of this Instagram post earlier today!

The OP has no genuine knowledge of pop culture or affection for AHS. He doesn’t follow the news, he finds out what you like from your posts and starts a million threads on the same topic to stalk you and milk it for attention.

He’s a Borderline psycho.

Please F&F this thread and the fucking psycho OP. He’s just looking for ideas to steal and people to impose his soulless, unoriginal, mentally ill company on..

Scroll down to r9 in the linked thread to see what I’m talking about. The OP has done this to me at least 300 times, which is why I rarely contribute to pop threads anymore.

UGh give it rest R51

Season after season, the first four or five episodes are great, and then inevitably, the season devolves into garbage. Apparently, I like garbage because I'll be tuning in. AGAIN.

by Anonymousreply 52March 11, 2021 9:44 AM

He’s finally starting to lose his babyface, which is a good thing.

by Anonymousreply 53March 11, 2021 10:16 AM

R51 I never even saw that thread. And your thread is idiotic. One is eccentric but seems to have a stable life with a girlfriend and friends. The other is a cracked out meth head with face tattoos screaming conspiracy theories on onlyfans.

Hmm...who might be in better shape?

I saw Leslie's instagram because I love Mary Cherry.

Eat my ass.

by Anonymousreply 54March 11, 2021 4:50 PM

I think with all the money that Netflix is giving him. He could do better than B- actors and famous people’s kids.

by Anonymousreply 55March 12, 2021 1:11 AM

I’m excited

by Anonymousreply 56April 19, 2021 3:32 AM

Leslie Grossman again? She can't act. In Apocalypse she played a student in an all girl's school for witches and a 20 or 30-something camp counselor in 1984 despite pushing 50.

by Anonymousreply 57April 19, 2021 3:41 AM

I’m over that shit show! Won’t be watching. I lost interest!

by Anonymousreply 58April 19, 2021 3:45 AM

started already?

by Anonymousreply 61April 19, 2021 5:13 AM

How much is Evan Peters involved? He's also in a new HBO show with Kate Winslet and DL fave Jean Smart called Mare of Easttown.

by Anonymousreply 62April 19, 2021 5:39 AM

R51 IS Aaron Carter.

by Anonymousreply 63April 19, 2021 5:45 AM

The little Culkin boy has certainly grown up.

by Anonymousreply 64April 19, 2021 5:47 AM

Something about that picture and that come hither look on Culkin's face is giving me a creepy Dustin Diamond vibe.

by Anonymousreply 65April 19, 2021 5:53 AM

You're full of shit, r54, just like Ryan Murphy and all his shows.

You cunts are a bunch of basic bitches with no taste if you're impressed and ensnared by anything Ryan Murphy does. I'm not surprised you're a fan, because Ryan Murphy is a biter and a copycat, just like you. He just name-drops famous people and milks their "true" stories or songs for content rather than accomplishing any original artwork or story of his own.

Remember when you look in the mirror to see the trash bag bursting at the seams you are!

by Anonymousreply 66April 19, 2021 7:26 AM

r66, you just described most of Hollywood's output these days. Either get off your high horse and produce something better or fuck off.
