Is it just a case of sour grapes?
Melissa Gorga responded to former co-star Kathy Wakile’s son calling her family “farm animals” by saying he was just “sour” the Wakiles are no longer on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
“Look, I know they are a little sour about not being on the show any longer, and it’s unfortunate, to be honest,” she said during a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” “I wish them all well; I love the Wakile children.”
In February, Kathy’s 24-year-old son, Joseph Wakile, took to Page Six’s Instagram to diss Melissa and her hubby Joe Gorga when a fan asked why they hadn’t attended Victoria Wakile’s wedding.
“Lmao we cut those farm animals out of our life years ago that’s why they weren’t in attendance,” he responded in the comments about his sister’s wedding.
Melissa, 40, told Cohen, 52, last Wednesday that she is “so happy” for Kathy’s daughter Victoria, despite not getting an invite to the wedding, adding that she looked like a “beautiful bride.”
The “RHONJ” star also added that Joseph’s comments were “very shocking” because she has “always had a great relationship with him, too.”
Kathy is first cousins with Joe Gorga and Joe’s sister Teresa Giudice. Kathy appeared on Season 3 to 7 of the Bravo show.
Melissa also pointedly said that she thinks Joseph may have actually meant to make the “farm animals” comment about Teresa, 48, and her ex-husband, Joe Giudice.
Joseph did not immediately return our request for comment.
