Looks Like This Storm is Winter’s Last Gasp

The forecast (at least on the east coast) is all 40’s and 50’s next week. We’re headed into spring after this.

Hope you did not jinx us OP. Significant snow storms are not unheard of in March and April.

by Anonymousreply 1February 18, 2021 1:54 PM

I made sure to knock on wood, R1: my morning erection which is still present.

by Anonymousreply 2February 18, 2021 1:56 PM

Old man winter wants to go out with a bang.

by Anonymousreply 3February 18, 2021 1:59 PM

I am north of NYC and it’s been snowing for just over an hour. We already have an inch of snow. If it keeps falling at this rate we’re looking at over a foot of snow (on top of the foot still on the ground).

by Anonymousreply 4February 18, 2021 2:05 PM

Wow, Jimmmmmaayyyyyy....wait, I am in the wrong thread.

by Anonymousreply 5February 18, 2021 2:07 PM

Spring - say it softly, it’s almost like praying!

by Anonymousreply 6February 18, 2021 2:17 PM

Buahahahaha, OP, you have no IDEA what's coming!@

by Anonymousreply 7February 18, 2021 2:29 PM

OP, you are SO sweetly naïve.

by Anonymousreply 8February 18, 2021 3:04 PM

I’m just reading the forecast, R8.

by Anonymousreply 9February 18, 2021 3:24 PM

Anyone else think this was a GAP thread at first?

by Anonymousreply 10February 18, 2021 3:46 PM

Because they can forecast the next 4 months exactly.

by Anonymousreply 11February 18, 2021 3:48 PM

Are you pro-winter, R11?

by Anonymousreply 12February 18, 2021 3:51 PM

You’d better be right OP. I still see snow on the forecast for NYC next week but I’ll live in denial for now.

by Anonymousreply 13February 18, 2021 4:24 PM

[quote] Hope you did not jinx us OP.

OP ABSOLUTELY jinxed us.

by Anonymousreply 14February 18, 2021 4:33 PM

“Jinxed us.” You lily livered crybabies! Quit your bellyaching with these superstitious reveries. I’ve peered through the fog of the immediate future and there’s no snow on the horizon.

by Anonymousreply 15February 18, 2021 4:46 PM

Oh, I hope so, OP. I'm longing to pull out my Ship 'n Shore ensembles!

by Anonymousreply 16February 18, 2021 4:49 PM

Fine, OP!

But your gay ass is shoveling me out when we do get a storm.

Don’t you remember that old commercial, “you don’t fuck with Mother Nature”? I think it was for butter.

by Anonymousreply 17February 18, 2021 4:51 PM

Another day added to the Weather Channel two-week forecast (Thursday March 4) and it’s 45 degrees. I’m telling you, spring is coming.

by Anonymousreply 18February 18, 2021 11:09 PM

You probably can't believe this, r17, but it's not butter.

by Anonymousreply 19February 18, 2021 11:15 PM

R10, HUGE ice and snow storms in Dallas in Early 2000, but GAP at NorthPark was still open!

by Anonymousreply 20February 18, 2021 11:18 PM

OP, I have to say I find you cute. I really do.

by Anonymousreply 21February 18, 2021 11:31 PM

Thanks, R21. I took that photo last year.

by Anonymousreply 22February 18, 2021 11:49 PM

We can have big storms in March and April, but even now the sun's angle is much higher than in December. Snow struggles to accumulate on pavement as we move closer to spring.

by Anonymousreply 23February 19, 2021 12:14 AM

Spring, my ass. I just slogged for an hour through Philadelphia slush and I have had it. I thought Philly is at the latitude of Naples and spring comes early....

by Anonymousreply 24February 19, 2021 4:59 PM

I said starting next week, R24. From Tuesday onward, not a day below 40 degrees.

by Anonymousreply 25February 21, 2021 12:42 PM

In Florida, spring was in January this year. All my spring bulbs have come and gone. I am preparing for hurricanes, now.

by Anonymousreply 26February 21, 2021 1:09 PM

Good luck, R26. Hopefully you’ll get a weak hurricane season this year.

by Anonymousreply 27February 21, 2021 1:11 PM

R26 In central Florida, we were very fortunate last year. Nothing came by us in all those storms. I cannot imagine in these 'days of reckoning' we will be missed this year. And, I am sure California will burn again. That seems to be what we do these years.

by Anonymousreply 28February 21, 2021 1:26 PM

More snow tomorrow in NY.

by Anonymousreply 29February 21, 2021 1:41 PM

[quote] Spring, my ass.

Is that an invitation?

Ah, never mind. Just saw the comma.

by Anonymousreply 31February 21, 2021 3:34 PM

Careful. Spring can really hang you up the most.

by Anonymousreply 32February 21, 2021 3:58 PM

What do you mean, R32?

by Anonymousreply 33February 23, 2021 2:48 PM

It's going to hit 40 degrees here. I texted my downstairs neighbor to be careful if she goes out onto her patio because there are some killer icicles above her head that'll likely be crashing down today or tomorrow.

by Anonymousreply 34February 23, 2021 3:30 PM

[Quote] Anyone else think this was a GAP thread at first?

Yes! Awesome choice of pic to illustrate your weather thread OP!

by Anonymousreply 35February 23, 2021 3:44 PM

Snowing again in NY. Tomorrow might hit 50F though.

by Anonymousreply 36February 23, 2021 4:02 PM

Agree with R8 and R14.

It will get cold again in March.

Like the past couple of years, there will be a period of mild weather, then temperatures will suddenly drop and we'll have snow at the end of March. Then it will be cold until the end of April.

by Anonymousreply 37February 23, 2021 4:04 PM

R37 that is not what will happen.

by Anonymousreply 38February 23, 2021 4:44 PM

In Michigan, we often have snow in April. We are now entering what we call the "Fool's Spring". Everybody knows there will be more snow and cold before we dare plant anything in our gardens.

by Anonymousreply 39February 23, 2021 4:58 PM

Boooooo hisssssssss at r37.

by Anonymousreply 40February 23, 2021 5:04 PM

Of course there will be cold snaps. We’re talking about spring, not summer. Nobody’s saying it will be smooth sailing from here on out. But we’re hopefully beyond the weeks of freezing temperatures and snow storms that turn to ice at night. If it snows a couple inches one day and then melts the next as temperatures rise into the 40’s again, I’m fine with that.

by Anonymousreply 41February 23, 2021 5:07 PM

Look at today. It snowed yesterday and I didn’t have to shovel or salt cause it’s 40 friggin degrees right now and it’s melting on its own. By tomorrow (mid-40’s) it should be gone. If it was 30 degrees today, I would’ve had to go out and clean that shit up.

I swear I’m not buying another goddamn bag of rock salt until next winter.

by Anonymousreply 42February 23, 2021 5:13 PM

Bloomberg News finally catches up to the fortune-telling OP and declares that winter is over:

by Anonymousreply 43February 23, 2021 9:02 PM

Hope you're right R41, I'm done with winter. We've had some big snow and ice storms in April that I hope we don't see this year.

by Anonymousreply 44February 23, 2021 9:06 PM

Not a 30 degree day in sight now! Winter is OVER bitches!

by Anonymousreply 45February 25, 2021 9:12 AM

I was stuck in my house for 16 days straight. But at least I had electricity. My bread and milk had expired days before I could get out. Thank God I have my freezer stocked.

by Anonymousreply 46February 25, 2021 9:23 AM

Now it’s all 50’s next week. Yes!
