I am north of NYC and it’s been snowing for just over an hour. We already have an inch of snow. If it keeps falling at this rate we’re looking at over a foot of snow (on top of the foot still on the ground).

We can have big storms in March and April, but even now the sun's angle is much higher than in December. Snow struggles to accumulate on pavement as we move closer to spring.

Spring, my ass. I just slogged for an hour through Philadelphia slush and I have had it. I thought Philly is at the latitude of Naples and spring comes early....

In Florida, spring was in January this year. All my spring bulbs have come and gone. I am preparing for hurricanes, now.

R26 In central Florida, we were very fortunate last year. Nothing came by us in all those storms. I cannot imagine in these 'days of reckoning' we will be missed this year. And, I am sure California will burn again. That seems to be what we do these years.

It's going to hit 40 degrees here. I texted my downstairs neighbor to be careful if she goes out onto her patio because there are some killer icicles above her head that'll likely be crashing down today or tomorrow.

It will get cold again in March.

Like the past couple of years, there will be a period of mild weather, then temperatures will suddenly drop and we'll have snow at the end of March. Then it will be cold until the end of April.

In Michigan, we often have snow in April. We are now entering what we call the "Fool's Spring". Everybody knows there will be more snow and cold before we dare plant anything in our gardens.

Of course there will be cold snaps. We’re talking about spring, not summer. Nobody’s saying it will be smooth sailing from here on out. But we’re hopefully beyond the weeks of freezing temperatures and snow storms that turn to ice at night. If it snows a couple inches one day and then melts the next as temperatures rise into the 40’s again, I’m fine with that.

Look at today. It snowed yesterday and I didn’t have to shovel or salt cause it’s 40 friggin degrees right now and it’s melting on its own. By tomorrow (mid-40’s) it should be gone. If it was 30 degrees today, I would’ve had to go out and clean that shit up.

I swear I’m not buying another goddamn bag of rock salt until next winter.

I was stuck in my house for 16 days straight. But at least I had electricity. My bread and milk had expired days before I could get out. Thank God I have my freezer stocked.
