Trump HAS to resign, it’s the only way to get Pence to hand him a pardon. He has been advised to not pardon himself, as it could appear to be an admission of guilt. Also, he still hasn’t even officially conceded yet and I don’t trust that his MAGAts aren’t going to cause some major disruption over the next 5 days.

He won't resign because he can't be pardoned by Pence for crimes at the state and local level where much of his risk exists.

He'll try to self-pardon -what is there to lose? He'll then try his standard modus operandi of appeals and countersuits to keep things going as long as possible and expect something to turn up.

He's not going to resign. He will leave and then bumker down to weather whatever charges are thrown at him. He will tie the courts up with his insane brigade of lawyers for the rest of his life.

Literally everything.
If he pardons himself and the Supreme Court rules that’s impossible, he opens himself up to a slew of legal charges that he has no protection from. He not only implicitly admitted to crimes by pardoning himself for those crimes, but he also loses the Fifth Amendment protection for those crimes.
