What's the deal with Mr. T?

He was such a big deal in the 80s. What is he like?

He was a novelty act. I wonder if he still pities the fools.

He cut down all the trees on his Lake Forest estate. NOKD

The 80s. They were full of humor and kitsch. I miss all of that very much.

"I pity the poor fool who don't eat my cereal!"

--Pee Wee Herman's imitation of Mr. T when he ate the cereal at r6 in "Pee Wee's Big Adventure"

Agree D.C. Cab is awesome. And it has DL legend Max Gail in it.

The 80s were all about gimmicks. Wrestling, music, comedy. Everything had to have a gimmick to get any notice. Mr. T fit in perfectly.

by Anonymousreply 12January 20, 2021 10:46 PM

Everything was BIG, WEIRD, and FUN. Gayest decade EVER.

I lived in Lake Forest in the 90s, just a few blocks from Mr. T. Despite the "tree scandal," he was a kind and friendly person and devoted to charity work.
