As of a few hours ago it was not known for certain that the officer who was struck by the extinguisher in the video upthread was Officer Sicknick. These may be two separate incidents.

The City of Chicago can easily deny his retirement benefits on the basis of his guilty plea to a felony, so even if he never spends a minute behind bars, his cushy, taxpayer-funded retirement is gone.

Today they identified and arrested a retired firefighter from Chester, Pennsylvania for throwing the fire extinguisher in the video upthread. The officer who was struck in this instance is not the officer who was killed. The officer struck in this particular instance was not harmed.
