I’ve seen a few tweets from gay men pretty much protesting straight actors still getting gay roles in modern TV shows and movies. They were like, “Oh, I’m so sick of seeing straight actors playing gay characters.”, “These straight actors are taking away job opportunities from gay actors.”, etc. I also remember seeing a couple straight actors mention in interviews that when they got their gay roles, they wanted to make sure that their characters were still “men” and not feminine, flamboyant, etc. What are your thoughts on this topic?

An actors job is , literally, to portray a character, most likely someone they are not in real life. Why should certain characters be off-limits?

I'm a little bored of actors whining that the acting profession is "unfair' - you know... big DUH!
Get a REAL job.
