Why do Deplorables pronounce it "An-teef-ah"?
It's Anti-fa as in, quite simply, Anti-Facist. You know, like Generals Eisenhower, Patton, Marshall, Montgomery, et al. Every single one of em anti-facists.
Is it stupidity? I saw Sarah Palin on TV yesterday pronounce it as "An-teef-ah" (why am I asking?) as does Trump (ditto.)
Or is it one of those weird Republican "get the libs" things like when they call it the "Democrat Party" knowing full well it's the Democratic Party?
Or are they thinking of Milo's old smile?

Literally no one pronounces it “Anti-fa.”

I'm with OP. I always pronounced it Anti-Fa (because it's an abbreviation of antifascist), and was surprised to hear the deplorables pronounce it "anTEEfa."

Nancy Pelosi says an-TEE-fuh, so apparently she's a Deplorable.

I propose we drop this ridiculous term, which is meant to designate some nebulous left-wing movement and borders on conspiracy theory, and just say "anti-fascist" when necessary.

R9, it's been the shorthand for Anti-fascism for decades. It was just relatively unknown in the US because, uh, we never had much of an Antifa movement since we've been low-level morphing into fascism since at least 1980 (but definitely since 2001).
OP, they pronounce it like that because 1) they are fucking stupid, and 2) they think it's "foreign" sounding and give it an unnatural (in American English) inflection.
It's An-ti-FA. Not Aunt-TEEF-ah.
It's like pronouncing antichrist as "Aunt TEE-Christ." It's stupidity.
