Every gay space in Los Angeles will soon disappear.

by Anonymousreply 7January 11, 2021 3:31 AM

Lady Gaga celebrated the Grammys there in Feb. 2019.

by Anonymousreply 8January 11, 2021 4:40 AM

Aww, this is very sad.

by Anonymousreply 9January 11, 2021 4:40 AM

One of my best friends goes line dancing there.

by Anonymousreply 10January 11, 2021 5:08 AM

All those '90s Studio City hangouts of my gay youth are gone--The Apache, The Venture Inn, Oasis, even Video West. And now Oil Can Harry's. Sad.

by Anonymousreply 11January 11, 2021 5:49 AM

What was that old drag bar in the SFV that closed in the 00s?

by Anonymousreply 12January 11, 2021 6:53 AM

I don't get to the Valley very much, but when I do/did? Always stopped at Harry's for a drink. Sigh.

Is that the same Apache that was in West LA in the late '70s?

by Anonymousreply 15January 11, 2021 1:13 PM

Sad to see it go.

R15 If memory serves me right, the one in West L.A. was generally referred to as "Apache West", and I think they had the same owners as the one in Studio City.

gay apps killed real world magic. so fuck everyone currently existing on Grindr, Scruff, etc.

by Anonymousreply 17June 25, 2021 1:04 AM

The LA Times wrote a very sympathetic article about a lone gay bar out in Pasadena, The Boulevard -- convinced me to head out there and shell out some bucks to help keep it afloat.

by Anonymousreply 18June 25, 2021 1:12 AM

There's just no reason to be gay anymore!
