Parler Is Dead

Amazon's giving it the boot. Where will the deplorables go to air their grievances and plot their deplorable deeds?

Go Daddy stopped servicing Daily Stormer after intense pressure. I suspect they will get the same pressure if they're dumb enough to host. The business world does NOT want their precious brands linked to this shit.

I just joined Parler too. I want to see what they're saying. Most of them are barely literate so it's very hard to know.

Fascinating. I feel like I am in enemy territory and it's very creepy.

January 18th is their new date. Something is going to happen is what they are saying. They are unrepentant and ready for more. I can see why they are shutting Parler down.

by Anonymousreply 33January 10, 2021 2:29 AM

R30, they used the platform to plan violence. Five people are dead. This is in violation of AWS terms, which is entirely reasonable. AWS is even handing them their data, which is the opposing of “book burning.”

Are you joking, or just very stupid?

by Anonymousreply 34January 10, 2021 2:31 AM

R30 hey dumb cunt, if rethugs can deny wedding cakes to gay couples, private companys can ban their asses and their stupid app for inciting violence because they can’t deal with being losers.

by Anonymousreply 35January 10, 2021 2:32 AM

The right-wingers' line is that BLM and "Antifa" used all these platforms throughout the summer to plot and coordinate the burning of whole city blocks! And now that Trumpists want to plot stuff, they're getting shut down. Double standard!

They're beyond deluded.

by Anonymousreply 36January 10, 2021 2:33 AM

Good. Riddance.

by Anonymousreply 37January 10, 2021 2:34 AM

According to that Parler owner, they not only have tons of companies who want to work with them but they also planned for this by building everything "bare metal"...but for some strange reason, even with all that being oh so true, they'll still be going dark for at least a week.

Idiots and liars, all of them.

by Anonymousreply 38January 10, 2021 2:34 AM

R34, I believe R30 was mocking the founder of Parler bitching after getting the axe.

by Anonymousreply 39January 10, 2021 2:35 AM

Yeah they have no-one to host them is what that transpates to R38. They are in big trouble.

They are ripping Ivanka to SHREDS!

Delicious.

R30 - they are planning another MAGA revolution march on the 18th. That's why it's being shut down. Because it's being used to gather and organize domestic terrorists. This time I think they are going to go for the state politicians.

I’m sure the Russian government would be willing to help them...

And the FBI after that!

by Anonymousreply 43January 10, 2021 2:40 AM

Question for the techie geeks. What are their options? I figure with 10 million users, they need a very robust platform. I’m not even sure besides Amazon what they would be.

by Anonymousreply 44January 10, 2021 2:40 AM

The “tech totalitarians” gave these freaks a voice and brought them together in the first place. They have no obligation to keep doing so forever, particularly not when the freaks are now not just using the platforms to spread lies and disinformation, but actually to foment violent insurrections.

by Anonymousreply 45January 10, 2021 2:42 AM

Now let’s all get together & figure out how to get the FCC to pull Rupert Murdoch’s license for Fox News.

by Anonymousreply 46January 10, 2021 2:44 AM

Their options are very limited. They can't get direct peering because they are toxic, no backbone provider will touch them. They can only rebuild onto some sketchy overseas hosting service which will be much more expensive than AWS as those services cater mostly to porn and criminals. Now that they are de-platformed all they have are a bunch of non-revenue bearing feral freaks and nowhere cheap to host them.

#thoughtsandprayers

by Anonymousreply 47January 10, 2021 2:44 AM

LOL. Of course the guy claims that many companies are eager to host their site, and then later they complain that radical leftists have bullied these companies into submission without these companies ever been named or officially associated with the app.

by Anonymousreply 48January 10, 2021 2:45 AM

Probably some right winger will want to build a Nazi friendly platform for people like this. And they’re all rich so what’s stopping them?

The real test is whether somebody sues to shut them down, or sues for damages related to the threats on the site. It’s not theoretical now, people were injured. That cop’s family could probably sue, or maybe the Deplorables that were arrested themselves could sue, saying they were innocent little lambs that were misled. Once there’s an avalanche of lawsuits, nobody will host them.

by Anonymousreply 49January 10, 2021 2:46 AM

I'm really losing it, or I've been on DL for too long today, but I truly thought that this thread was entitled "Peter Gabriel Is Dead" for like a split second.

R47, I have more stupid questions. Sorry, I’m just so ignorant of servers, etc. What would stop them from hosting it themselves? I.e. buy a few super computers and the software, and an IP address? Run it out of their basement.

by Anonymousreply 51January 10, 2021 2:49 AM

I hope some overseas site does take them on and steals the identities of every single user.

by Anonymousreply 52January 10, 2021 2:51 AM

by Anonymousreply 55January 10, 2021 2:52 AM

In a world of increased polarity, nuance and the allowance of differing perspective often gets trampled by pitchfork mobs.

I have been concerned with Trump since July 2015.

I’ve also had concerns about limiting speech: even if crazy. Given the seriousness of inciting further devastation and death, I now appreciate the de-platformimg and de-fanging of those who encourage and incite it.

The article below gives weighted acknowledgement to various perspectives and with nuance, also explains why other despots can continue on Twitter despite Trump being de-platformed.

Hint: case-by-case basis that is evolving as tech grows and rapidly evolves....

by Anonymousreply 61January 10, 2021 3:04 AM

by Anonymousreply 62January 10, 2021 3:05 AM

[quote]Now let’s all get together & figure out how to get the FCC to pull Rupert Murdoch’s license for Fox News.

Stop repeating this nonsense. The FCC does not regulate cable. Only broadcast television STATIONS (not networks) need a license to use the public airwaves.

by Anonymousreply 63January 10, 2021 3:07 AM

[quote] And social media should have been just as strict during the months of street violence this year. Perhaps they will now.

Enough with this bullshit. BLM never invaded and vandalized the Capitol, ffs. When they did protest peacefully outside the WH, they were tear gassed by the military to clear a path for Dump’s bizarre xtian photo op.

BLM never spread seditious and inflammatory lies designed to incite violence. Their protests were by and large fairly peaceful. Never did five people die on one day; I think around 20 people total died throughout the the whole summer and fall of protesting. And most violence was committed by cops against protesters, not vice versa. Very few protestors ever showed up to a rally carrying weapons.

The looting was largely committed by the usual opportunists, who were advocating no particular ideology. Many arrested for burning up buildings turned out to be Boogaloos and Proud Boys just wanting to stir shit or make leftists look bad. To the extent that looting and burning were planned on social media, yeah those people should have been shut down, whether lefties or outside agitators. But there was no reason to stop basic organizing of protests from happening.

R35 - The United States Supreme Court says that bakers can’t deny wedding cakes to the gays. So, I’m not sure where your argument goes from there.

I’ve never been to “Parlor” and never will. And I’m all for the imprisonment of Trump. At the same time I’m honest enough to admit that there does appear to be a double standard in how the social media and web giants react to these things. Technically Twitter, Google et al. are using public resources and the public infrastructure to run their massive companies, so there is, and should be reasonable recourse for entities like Parlor to sue and/or demand equal protections as long as they aren’t breaking the law themselves. That’s an inconvenient truth but a truth nonetheless.

[quote]Technically Twitter, Google et al. are using public resources and the public infrastructure

Not any longer. Google, Amazon and IBM have built out a massive infrastructure, and the majority of traffic passes through many, many commercial routers. The idea of a public network is long gone.

This is what makes me laugh at Republicans: they have fought for decades to commercialize everything, and then get their panties in a twist when commercial companies tell them they're not welcome. If the infrastructure that runs the internet was a public good, Parler could sue the government for access and win. That's not the world that Republicans have shoved down our throats for the last 40 years, and for once, they have to live with the ramifications of their lawmaking.

R44 they will have to find some smaller hosting service or build their own like Gab, which has its own server.

slight OT, the twitter/FB Trump ban/Parler removal by Google, Apple and Amazon also sent a "chill" around the world, it just showed you how dominant those tech giants have become, they can literally silence you within seconds and there will be no alternative for your voice to be heard. I have to say, regardless of your opinion on China or Russia, at least these two countries know from the beginning they cannot let American companies rule the internet, that's why they build their own IT infrastructure and make their domestic service like VK, weibo, wechat...the top priority, also they have a fully functional internet/intranet independent of US. If the US congress or the president sign the law and nationalize those tech companies, they can shut down Europe or any country that is relying on Google, Apple or Amazon...countries like Japan, Australia or India etc will have no other choices.

by Anonymousreply 95January 10, 2021 3:55 AM

Everyone is so addicted to their laptops, forums, threads, apps, platforms, texts and tweets, that they have forgotten that interpersonal human communication was around for many millennia prior to the appearance of social media. And that it exists independently of social media. People are just too spoiled and ego-ed out by how far and wide their little brain farts can travel now through these platforms, to be able to remember that social media is nothing more than a novel tool for spewing out information to a wide population. Like skywriting or those banners that are pulled by airplanes. It's cool. But it's not the bedrock of liberty and freedom that these loony birds are making it out to be. It's not in the fucking Constitution as an inalienable right.

No one is taking away Trump's capability, OR HIS RIGHT, to speak freely and communicate with other humans. It's like, if I owned a bar, and Trump was a regular in my bar, but he repeatedly would incite hate and violence and would shoot off his loud lying mouth in my bar getting folks agitated every time he would come and drink at my establishment, then I would have the right to kick Trump out of my bar. It'd be like, "You wanna brawl, mister big guy? Well, guess what? You can't do it here. Doesn't mean you can't go find another bar, or write a book, or make a couple of calls, or send a letter, or have a party and invite all your shitty friends. But this is my goddamn bar, and you are causing problems. So get out."

I'll tell you why twitter, amazon, facebook and the like finally found their spines and started shutting this shit down - $$$$$$$$

If the US is viewed as "unstable" thanks to these shit stains, the dollar goes into a tailspin and we can no longer get buyers for our debt.

You think we got problems now with so many unemployed? We lose our world credit rating and we spiral into an economic depression.

Bezos, Buffett, Gates and the like know this. It's what Putin wants. Even the GOP donors know they are fucked if the US is viewed by the world bankers as a "credit risk". They'd also lose their asses.

That's why all of these companies are moving to shut this shit down before it gets worse. It was all fun and games until they idiots they've coddled decided to stage a coup.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually dick kicks Fux Noise and tells them to STFU with the "stolen election" shit.

by Anonymousreply 108January 10, 2021 7:51 AM

Just thought I would report back with an update after joining Parler today.

After about 60 minutes, Parler got old real quick. Think of all the batshit crazy QAnon conspiracy theories, slobbering Fox News hosts vitriol, racist hate speech promoters, scary people who live in bunkers waiting for the end of the world, gun nuts, insane Dump supporter cult members (and they notch it up several levels on Parler), even more insane evangelical christians who think Dump is god- most of them who are virtually illiterate so that you have to read their posts several times in an effort to understand what they are trying to say - and gay hater Milo Fucking Yiannopoulos - and that's what Parler is.

They are " Patriots" who think the Capitol riots were excellent and want escalated riots, others blame ANTIFA for everything, they will never accept that the election wasn't stolen and there are all sorts of conspiracy theories about literally everything.

What a shitfest and I don't want to read their crap but someone does need to keep a close eye on it because that sort of online meeting point is where plans will be made. That's why it's being banned.

So I deleted my account. A short experiment. Glad I did it but it's too crazy in there for me.

by Anonymousreply 111January 10, 2021 10:47 AM

The only thing about all this is that doesn't it drive these people and their conversations under ground? I suppose the real plotting happens offline anyway but still. Isn't it somewhat better that these people have a platform that is out in the open? For intelligence and surveillance purposes? It's not the only method, of course, and I guess breaking up the network does something to lower the intensity of it.

by Anonymousreply 112January 10, 2021 11:06 AM

Good point R112.

Allow it and monitor the hell out of it.

by Anonymousreply 113January 10, 2021 11:07 AM

I assume intelligence agencies already monitor the underground forums. They had quite a bit of information about those Boogaloo Bois who shot cops and started the fire in the MN police station, and none of that was on mainstream social media but other forums no one had heard of.

by Anonymousreply 114January 10, 2021 11:11 AM

The corporations took this move out of self interest. To protect themselves from time consuming costly liability trials. Furthermore, they have a right to deny. Finally, it does help cool things off at this very moment.

Eventually it might be interesting to have forums where deplorables can be deplorable in plain site.

But 99.99% can still communicate now on facebook and twitter, etc etc. Just not the big cheeses. So what's the problem?

by Anonymousreply 115January 10, 2021 11:25 AM

Biden's government must go after the businesses who host sites like this, not just the hate group alone. They must make it very uncomfortable for anyone doing business with hate groups.

Any web hosting service doing business with Parler is guilty by association in my opinion.

Did Parler have NO ONE with legal training (or ability to read) look at the contract it signed with AWS?

When it says "don't use or allow your customers to use Amazon servers for hate, violence, and illegal activity" what did they think that meant?

I think the seditionists are migrating to Telegram now. I have a Telegram account that I never use. But periodically I'll get a notification that someone from my contacts has "joined Telegram". That happens about once every couple of months or so. So far this morning, I've received two notifications that someone from my contacts had joined. Both were business associates, one of which I know is a big Trumper who has expressed belief in several conspiracy theories. Anyone else on Telegram seeing similar activity?

by Anonymousreply 137January 10, 2021 4:18 PM

If these goobers are migrating today to Gab and/or Telegram to plot, I'd wager the FBI is monitoring the living shit out both platforms.

The Donald.win is literally a hotbed of violence. I spent time there reading last night. I was on a thread where they were saying that the posters for the event on 1/17 are clearly not made by them, they think it’s a false flag event designed to trap/catch them, so they’re trying to spread the word that 1/17 isn’t legit. No idea if that was a teeny group within all of them, or if that’s the general topic all throughout.

by Anonymousreply 142January 10, 2021 5:33 PM

Maybe he can order Door Dash through a local call.

by Anonymousreply 143January 10, 2021 5:44 PM

I’m sure it has been noted, but this is different than google or Apple. This is removing the web site, so refusing to allow the content on the internet through your resources, not just a company specific platform.

However, it still remains true that the first amendment dictates that

[quote] Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Not “The WSJ must publish....,”

by Anonymousreply 144January 10, 2021 5:49 PM

[quote] Question for the techie geeks. What are their options? I figure with 10 million users, they need a very robust platform. I’m not even sure besides Amazon what they would be.

They can build their own server. It is important they do. The FBI needs to be able to monitor domestic terrorism and Parler is their forum.

by Anonymousreply 145January 10, 2021 6:21 PM

by Anonymousreply 150January 10, 2021 7:46 PM

This was mentioned upthread, but here is a complete statement from Parler CEO John Matz. He's not confident and though anymore.

[quote]Parler CEO John Matze said today that his social media company has been dropped by virtually all of its business alliances after Amazon, Apple and Google ended their agreements with the social media service.

[quote] “Every vendor from text message services to email providers to our lawyers all ditched us too on the same day,” Matze said today on Fox News.

[quote] Matze conceded that the bans could put the company out of business while raising free speech issues, calling it “an assault on everybody.”

[quote] “They all work together to make sure at the same time we would lose access to not only our apps, but they’re actually shutting all of our servers off tonight, off the internet,” Matze said. “They made an attempt to not only kill the app, but to actually destroy the entire company. And it’s not just these three companies. Every vendor from text message services to email providers to our lawyers all ditched us too on the same day.”

[quote]The remarks come a day after Amazon dropped Parler from its servers, joining Apple and Google. They all cited the potential of spreading violent content on the site, which is favored by conservatives as an alternative to Twitter and Facebook.

[quote] Matze said that the services are unfairly targeting Parler. “They’re trying to falsely claim that we’re somehow responsible for the events that occurred on the 6th,” he said, the date of the Capitol building takeover by protesters.

[quote] “It would put anybody out of business,” he said of the tech bans. “This thing could destroy anybody.”

[quote] He added: “We’re going to try our best to get back online as quickly as possible. But we’re having a lot of trouble because every vendor we talk to says they won’t work with us. Because if Apple doesn’t approve and Google doesn’t approve, they won’t.”

[quote] Parler is unlikely to rebound quickly, if at all. As the Duckbill Group’s Corey Quinn recently explained on Twitter, migrating a large product off AWS can take months of staging and possibly years to execute. Apps that integrate AWS’s wide array of services cannot be easily transposed onto a different hosting environment, Quinn said.

by Anonymousreply 200January 11, 2021 2:51 PM

[quote]I heard they are all going to Gab

Gab makes Parler look like the official social media app of the Democratic Socialists of America. Andrew Anglin, anyone?

by Anonymousreply 201January 11, 2021 3:07 PM

Well, if the site is customized for AWS services, I guess I could get the problem. Any host that uses the AWS services risks pissing off the Amazon and that would threaten their other clientele.

But come on, its the internet. They can get a spot. I suspect they are overplaying the doomsday scenario.

by Anonymousreply 202January 11, 2021 3:55 PM

Aren't some of them on FB?

by Anonymousreply 204January 11, 2021 4:08 PM

Article about how Parler was incredibly easy to hack because of incredibly bad programming on the site

[quote]Parler also doesn't require authentication to view public posts and doesn't use any sort of "rate limiting" that would cut off anyone accessing too many posts too quickly. Together with the IDOR (insecure direct object reference) issue, that meant that any hacker could write a simple script to reach out to Parler's web server and enumerate and download every message, photo, and video in the order they were posted.

[quote] "It's just a straight sequence, which is mind-numbing to me," says (Kenneth) White (co-director of the Open Crypto Audit Project). "This is like a Computer Science 101 bad homework assignment, the kind of stuff that you would do when you're first learning how web servers work. I wouldn't even call it a rookie mistake because, as a professional, you would never write something like this."

Did the hackers steal information from Parler? Or did they just download public information?

[quote] Despite Parler's security woes, @donk_enby was careful to counter rumors that hackers had accessed all Parler information, including the images of driver's licenses that Parler asks users to submit if they want a verified account. "Only things that were available publicly via the web were archived," @donk_enby wrote in a Twitter post. A Reddit rumor that hackers gained access to more private data on the site—due to SMS provider Twilio cutting ties with Parler and disabling its two-factor authentication—was "bullshit," @donk_enby confirmed in a message to WIRED. While Twilio did drop Parler as a customer, the result was only that hackers could bypass two-factor authentication if they knew an account's password or could mass-generate new accounts, she says. They could not gain access to existing accounts.

[quote] Even so, White points out that Parler appears to have failed to scrub geolocation metadata from images and videos before they were posted. So while the data that hackers have pulled from the site may be public, the result is that much of that archived content also contains Parler users' detailed locations, likely revealing the GPS coordinates of many of their homes. Data artist Kyle McDonald has already created a visualization of the locations of 68,000 of the archived Parler videos.

[quote] "This is as bad as it gets," White says. "It's gross incompetence on the part of Parler. They marketed themselves as a private, secure, unmoderated platform, and instead it's comedy hour."

They have a new hosting company.

[quote] Parler moves to Epik, a domain registrar known for hosting far-right extremist content

[quote] Parler finding "refuge" with Epik, as Vice reported, comes after the (Epik) company's history of hosting far-right content. Gab, a far-right Facebook alternative, and Bitchute, a far-right YouTube alternative, both operate with Epik. The company previously hosted 8chan, now 8kun, the fringe message board that has been popular among violent extremists. Infowars, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' website, is also registered with Epik.

[quote] The Southern Poverty Law Center wrote in 2019 that Epik was "cornering the market on websites where hate speech is thriving," and Epik CEO Rob Monster has defended the rights of neo-Nazis to gather online, HuffPost reported in 2018.

Besides Parler's bad programming on its site, they are having trouble with the lawsuit against Amazon. From SeattleTimes.com:

[quote] Parler’s lawsuit got off to a stumbling start. The company filed its request for a temporary restraining order, which would have stopped Amazon from booting Parler off its hosting services, one day too late — after Parler had already been wiped from the web. Parler also initially failed to serve Amazon with its complaint, in violation of court rules.

[quote] Parler’s choice of attorney in the case is something of an enigma. Solo practitioner David Groesbeck, of Spokane, has previously represented local businesses in licensing, real estate and property disputes. Groesbeck has not responded to requests for comment; his website redirects to an “under construction” page.

[quote]“This case is not about suppressing speech or stifling viewpoints. It is not about a conspiracy to restrain trade. Instead, this case is about Parler’s demonstrated unwillingness and inability to remove from the servers of Amazon Web Services content that threatens the public safety, such as by inciting and planning the rape, torture, and assassination of named public officials and private citizens.”

Parler is never coming back.

by Anonymousreply 216January 14, 2021 2:34 PM

Here's a really interesting interview with the Parler CEO.

He says:

Parler may never come back. They are losing many vendors that they need to operate.

Parler lost the database software company that is the central core of the Parler program. He seems to think that losing them is about as big as losing Amazon.

He says that the fastest way that they could come back is if the courts force Amazon to resume hosting Parler. (Every boy should have a dream.)

Previously in other interviews he said that Parler would NEVER use software algorithms to mark objectionable content. He insisted on using humans to find objectionable content and then let an (unpaid?) jury of users vote whether or not to ban content. But now, all of a sudden, he's talking about adding moderator algorithms to automatically find that content. Huh.

A small early investor in Gab was Rep. Dan Bishop R-NC who invested $500 early on after ‘big brother’ tech companies banned people associated with the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, VA.

Dan’s son Jack, the cutest little twink you’ve ever seen but a real price of shit, claimed to assaulted while painting a free expression tunnel at NC State University. Video shows people spray painting over what his group had painted and Jack stepping in between the spray paint and the wall and getting purposely sprayed. He fancies himself a budding James O’Keefe.

Parler, the saga continues--

[quote] The chief executive officer of Parler says he’s gone into hiding after receiving death threats.

[quote] “Many Parler employees are suffering harassment and hostility, fear for their safety and that of their families, and in some cases have fled their home state to escape persecution,” Matze’s lawyer said in Parler’s lawsuit aimed at forcing Amazon Web Services to put the platform back online. Matze had to “go into hiding with his family after receiving death threats and invasive personal security breaches.”

[quote] Matze’s move comes after Amazon earlier this week said its employees, too, have been threatened — by Parler users. “Both sides of this dispute have shown that their employees have suffered real harassment and threats — including, on both sides, death threats — owing to the charged nature of this litigation,” according to Parler’s filing, which was reported earlier by Fox News.

John Matze is a pussy.

by Anonymousreply 222January 16, 2021 11:52 PM

I can't find the link, but there's a meme floating around Twitter telling people the new version of Parler is up and ready! Just delete your old version and download the new version from the Apple Store!

The Trumpenvolk are PISSED. (the joke is there is no new Parler app.)

It's coming back online per CNN

by Anonymousreply 225January 17, 2021 8:39 PM

It's back online with a one-page message from the CEO stating his intentions to eventually bring Parler back. He gives no timeline for the return.

I always meant to sign up to snoop but now I am glad I never did. Unfortunately any webmaster is going to give the government your information if it is requested though.

You can't make this up: Parler is working to get back up and running by the end of the month, with the help of a Russian technology firm 😏

THe NYTimes says that the Russian company is just hosting the informational webpage. Parler is still looking for someone else to host their huge database.

Epik, which is Gab.com's host, apparently won't do it.

[quote] Robert Davis, Epik’s senior vice president, said in an interview that Epik had only helped register Parler’s domain name, a basic function of the internet. While Epik would like to help, he said, Parler’s needs are too large.

[quote] “I would expect Parler to be an amazing force for good in the future,” he said. “I could see them easily hitting 100 million members or more in 2021 alone.

Parler may be trying to build its system from scratch. But Problems:

[quote] Mr. Davis said he believed that Parler was trying to build its own infrastructure. On Monday, Mr. Matze appeared to support that notion in an interview on Fox News, saying, “We really need to build our own infrastructure and our own technology.”

[quote] In a legal filing on the same day, Mr. Matze said Parler did not have “the technical and security expertise to host the Parler environment on its own,” adding, “Nor is it feasible for Parler to do so.”

[quote] He said the computers and other equipment needed to host Parler’s site would cost more than $6 million and take weeks to arrive. “Simply put, it would not be possible for Parler itself to acquire the necessary servers and related security infrastructure in a commercially reasonable time frame,” he said.

So the real solution ?

[quote] For Parler, the ideal solution would be returning to Amazon’s servers. The network has accused Amazon of violating antitrust law and asked a federal judge to force it to host Parler. After a hearing last week, the companies are now awaiting a ruling.

I am confused because the "CEO" said they were prepared for an eventuality like this, did not rely on AWS's proprietary infrastructure, built bare metal products, and were going to create something from scratch in a week.

by Anonymousreply 233January 20, 2021 4:29 AM

Is the CEO’s technological ineptitude not glaringly obvious?

by Anonymousreply 234January 20, 2021 4:35 AM

Russiapublicans = Russia + Republicans. They've been colluding for years.

by Anonymousreply 235January 20, 2021 4:58 AM

So they're pretty much admitting they're in league with Russia while screaming about 'Merica!

by Anonymousreply 236January 20, 2021 5:14 AM

Hey, Parler! What's happening? Anything new?

From WaPo Jan 21st, 2021-

[quote] House Oversight Committee chair requests FBI probe of Parler, including its role in Capitol siege

[quote] Rep. Maloney says she’s planning to launch an investigation into the conservative site’s policies, ownership and alleged Russia ties

by Anonymousreply 237January 21, 2021 3:43 PM

A judge ruled against Parler's lawsuit to force Amazon to resume web-hosting services. She noted they only offered conjecture while Amazon proved they warned Parler about violent content.

LMAO

Matze has been fired by Parler's board! I'm willing to bet there are ties between him and the Russian government that have been uncovered.

Funeral Parler.

by Anonymousreply 243February 4, 2021 7:50 AM

The interesting thing is, Matze claims he was advocating for Parler to more strictly monitor and remove violent content, but Rebekah Mercer disagreed. He also indicates he's motivated as an advocate of free speech, not providing a platform for conservatives. The board was primarily focused on attracting people with conservative views.
