My doctor prescribed Adderall

Any advice, drug whores? I'm pretty new to stimulants.

by Anonymousreply 27January 10, 2021 10:21 PM

by Anonymousreply 1January 3, 2021 9:04 PM

I prefer 60mg of Vyvance

by Anonymousreply 2January 3, 2021 9:14 PM

by Anonymousreply 3January 3, 2021 9:16 PM

I'm a bit old to need it for studying. Some things happened to my ... brain. One doctor prescribed modafinil, which didn't do much. Another doctor said last week that the proper medication for my ... brain is stimulants. She thought this was the safest as it doesn't stay in the body long and the dosage can be adjusted easily.

Ooooo smell you! Lucky snatch.

by Anonymousreply 7January 3, 2021 9:40 PM

Put it to work. Have something planned and productive to do before you take it. Otherwise it can just make you jittery and stressed out. Try to use it to support good habits that will increase your overall well-being.

How late can I take it if I want to sleep by 10:30? Right now I'm on 10 mg 3x/day, although the doc said I might want to take it only twice. She recommended PRN dosing in fact.

by Anonymousreply 9January 3, 2021 10:24 PM

That's a lot. I would take it 2x a day, in the morning and then after lunch or before 3pm. Any later and I found I couldn't fall asleep. Good Luck.

Where’s a Dr. Feelgood when you need one? Abuse or no, some people need stimulants and sedatives.

by Anonymousreply 11January 3, 2021 10:44 PM

Thank you, R10. So far I haven't had more than 15 mg total in a day.

by Anonymousreply 12January 3, 2021 11:16 PM

Coke is far more fun. But Adderall really does help me get things done (and isn't entirely illegal, and dangerous). It would be wonderful if I could be prescribed. And I say that in all seriousness. I was diagnosed with ADHD at twenty-five, but suffered with it for a long time before that, of course.

That reminds me, I need to see my psychiatrist again soon to get my Lexapro increased by about 5,000mg. Seriously. Someone recently joked about throwing a Xanax into my open mouth.

by Anonymousreply 13January 3, 2021 11:31 PM

Take it 2x a day and hoard the extra. You will get a little edgy as the pills wear off (prob hour 3 of each dose) be prepared to be a little snappy as you get near 6pm.

I take 5mg at 9:00 am and then again at 1pm, I don’t take it on the weekends. Extended release is a smoother ride, vyvance is the gold standard if your insurance covers it.

by Anonymousreply 14January 4, 2021 12:40 AM

I hear it's an appetite suppressant and you lose weight on it.

by Anonymousreply 15January 4, 2021 12:44 AM

I had a dose at 9 am and took a nap at noon. What's that about?

by Anonymousreply 16January 4, 2021 11:20 PM

Trump is addicted to it and you know how he is

by Anonymousreply 17January 4, 2021 11:29 PM

I am trying to get Vyvanse but my Dr is playin’!

by Anonymousreply 18January 4, 2021 11:41 PM

R18 it’s usually insurance that pushes back on vyvanse, docs will prescribe but most insurances won’t pay for it. I have cigna and they said no go so vyvanse was $400 a month while adderall is $5.

by Anonymousreply 19January 5, 2021 12:45 AM

I was taking naps an hour after taking 10 mg adderall, so the doc raised the dose to 20 mg. I'm still pretty sluggish. She wants me to find a neurologist, but competent ones are rare.

Lie #1

Lie #2

The scenario you presented is not only improbable, it doesn't make sense. Do your homework before you start a troll thread.

by Anonymousreply 21January 10, 2021 8:29 PM

I take dextroamphetamine twice daily and it works like a charm.

by Anonymousreply 22January 10, 2021 8:35 PM

R19, that's odd considering Vyvanse is harder to abuse than Adderall.

by Anonymousreply 23January 10, 2021 8:37 PM

I don't understand this. On the fucking bottle is says AMPHETAMINES.

So yes, if you want to be addicted to amphetamines, go for it.

by Anonymousreply 24January 10, 2021 8:39 PM

Does it make you horny?

by Anonymousreply 25January 10, 2021 8:57 PM

JUST SAY NO!!

by Anonymousreply 26January 10, 2021 9:02 PM

R21, I've seen your lame takedowns of other posters on this site before where you do nothing but call people liars. You're a crazy loon and biggest liar on Datalounge.

I'm not giving you a complete rundown of my medical conditions, but I will say it's brain injury with frontal lobe damage. The doctor provided me with copies of research on the matter when she was telling me this - she expected I might be surprised or resistant. I'm glad she bothered. None of my other doctors have done more than the bare minimum.

I didn't find modafinil very effective. Increasing the dose increased the side effects too much for comfort. Armodafinil was worse for side effects and spiked my blood pressure. Antidepressants, and there were a lot of them, didn't help. Genetic testing found I'm not a good metabolizer of many of them. My diagnosis contradicts using current trendy atypical antipsychotics.

The current doctor said that the medications with the strongest research proof are stimulants. I had more side effects at 10mg amphetamine than I do at 20mg. I am a bit more clear-headed, but I don't think this is going to be an effective solution. The doc has offered switching to Ritalin. I may have narcolepsy in addition to the other shit going on.

Finding competent and concerned specialists has been impossible.
