What problems are people having with the thread watcher? Mine is working as it always has.

It's not working for me r4. Threads keep leaving my thread watcher so have I go find them.

No thread has lasted in my thread watcher this week for more than a few minutes.

That hasn't happened to me yet. Every once in a while I do have an issue with a thread that I comment on not being added to my thread watcher. But I've been having that problem longer than I can remember.

Have you guys deleted your DL cookies and logged back in? It really does sound like a corrupt cookie file. I would also suggest dumping your temporary internet files along with dumping the DL cookies.

When I want her to close down a Klan Granny thread, I post her name and my request in capitals onto the thread and it often works. She/the other mods search for 'Muriel'.

Basically the site just forgets that I've posted on a thread (or even started it). When I find and reopen a thread, it opens at the top rather than at the post I last looked at.

There is a limit on the number of threads you can watch. If your new threads are not watched, you have to delete old threads from your list.

R22 - that may be the case, but it's not the particular issue that OP is mentioning. Threads get watched and unwatched at random. Some particular threads seem to have a watching issue that they never "stick" to your watched list, while others always do. It's wildly inconsistent and has become more apparent to a large number of us (judging by the number of threads on this topic) over the last couple of weeks.

OP, I, in fact, started a similar thread last week. Judging by Muriel's usual response rate, I'd expect to see a fix by Kamala's first term.

I don't believe that's true, R22. In the past the threads I've posted on (or started) got added to my watched list in the column to the right on my screen, and threads that were less active or inactive fell to the bottom and dropped off the list. There was never any blockage where I had to delete watched threads to get new ones on the list.

There's probably not anyone working on the site right now because they usually delete these threads with helpful information. The fact that it's still up makes me think no one is home right now.

It isn't a computer issue as the person upthread states. I've logged out of DL, cleared my cache, logged back in on three different machines and it does not fix the issue. I've also tried two different browsers.

Issues -

Threads that I add to threadwatcher disappear within minutes

Threads do not reopen to the last post read. They restart at the top

Threads that I post in are not automatically added to the threadwatcher

Threads that I remove from the threadwather reappear in it

r39 Have you cleared all your watched threads, i.e., deleted each orange eye? That is the only thing I have found that works now. And it has worked three times.

Muriel is living off the grid now. She only responds to smoke signals or messages in bottles.
