Is it too soon to ask why Lorde’s career went straight down the shitter?

She postponed her new album indefinitely because her dog that she’d had for less than a year died suddenly and then COVID happened.

Cyndi Lauper took an extended gap between albums and it killed her momentum. True Colors was a shadow of the success of She’s So Unusual.

People found out who she really was...

R3 that already happened to Lorde. She took a long break after first album and then her second, while acclaimed, sold far less and she struggled to sell out her tour.

I think she's talented, but it feels like the main thing going for her, that propelled her career into those heights, was being the new, very young, fresh, different woman in pop. She was a bit the "anti-starlet" and people loved that. The Grammys ate it up in 2014. But just being "not like the others" could have been a bit too little to sustain a long career on the same level, especially when she lost momentum by taking too much time between albums and when a new, very young, fresh, different woman comes around in the form of Billie Eilish (see Grammys 2020).

She took far to long to put out a second album, you can't have a break out success then disappear for 4 years and expect to be as successful. Only established pop stars can have that luxury. Still pure heroine was a great pop album and far more interesting that the shit adele puts out.

That irritating, overplayed Royals song stifled most people's interest in anything else she may have had to offer.

What's the difference between Lorde, Halsey, Mya and the gal that Elon Musk knocked up?

The album had far better songs than royals too, which was definitely overplayed to hell and back.

The public turned against Lorde once photos of her hideous boyfriend made the rounds.

She is a shitty singer and performer, her fans grew up and the emo tween girls now have billy eyelash (who actually is a better performer, but twice as pretentious)

She’s an alleged graduate of the Catherine Zeta Jones school of shaving years of your age. She said she was 17 when people said she was 5 years older but NZ records weren’t easily accessed to find out and I believed she was “home schooled” . She’s annoying when she speaks and that face is hideous.

Her second album is excellent.
