Josh Thomas is cute as heck too.
Please Like Me is wonderful. Anyone watched it? I'm just two episodes in.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | November 9, 2020 3:02 PM |
The character is likeable in small doses. He gets annoying after awhile. And the show is very fantasy based. There is no way that he would date/have sex with all the hot guys they cast as his boyfriends. And I was surprised to learn in later episodes that he's the top.
I liked his roommate and think that the show should have revolved around him instead, with Josh being the gay best friend.
When Hannah Gadsby joins the show, she really adds much needed depth to the show. She wrote some of her character's scenes and she takes it to another level.

Where do you watch it?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 25, 2020 6:29 PM |
Josh punched above his weight in real life too.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 25, 2020 6:36 PM |
Keegan Hirst is bloody awesome
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 25, 2020 6:40 PM |
I mean Keegan Joyce
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 25, 2020 6:43 PM |
Netflix? Hulu? HBOMax? Prime? Peacock? CBS All Access? Disney+?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 25, 2020 6:43 PM |
I love this show and binge watch it often.
However his new show is just awful.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 25, 2020 6:47 PM |
Hulu airs them but they are edited down I think
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 25, 2020 6:48 PM |
Hulu. I have heard from reliable sources that his fame has gone to his head and he’s pretty unfortunate IRL. That said - his original one man show and this series version of it are an engaging dramedy that deals with the reality of mental health issues.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 25, 2020 6:49 PM |
Hulu, R6. I agree about the show, overly hot boyfriends and all. And I loved Hannah Gabsby: too bad she got so cheer-free.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 25, 2020 6:49 PM |
I liked Keegan Joyce’s character at first but he got on my nerves. Roommate Patrick was the hottest gay.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 25, 2020 6:52 PM |
[quote]And I loved Hannah Gabsby: too bad she got so cheer-free.
I watched one of the broadcasts of one of her shows. It started off funny enough, but by the end, she was screaming about women's stories not being told. I was disappointed because I was hoping she could make her point without devolving into a screaming harpie like so many other feminists. I had hoped she had the ability to stick the knife in while smiling.

Yes. Women should smile more.

Well, she is a comedienne. If I wanted anger, I'd tune into Ashley Judd.

Looks like a post-menopausal woman, sounds like a post-menopausal woman, insufferably sarcastic, but he is bagging the hottest men Australia has to offer. Lol.
R3 Meh. He looks like Jeff Daniels in Dumb and Dumber and Owen Wilson had a butt baby.

R16 And I was talking about the character in the show. I have no idea what this guy's personality is like irl, but he gets so obnoxious in the show.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 25, 2020 7:33 PM |
He's cute but he's not among Australia's hottest.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 25, 2020 7:43 PM |
Op It turns into being all about mental illness, as every character in the show has some mental fuckup. It gets really tired quickly and by the last season is completely fucking miserable.
And am so over the 'I never knew I was gay until the first episode' Nonsense.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 25, 2020 7:44 PM |
He has womanly hips.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 25, 2020 10:57 PM |
The series is based on his one man show which is largely autobiographical.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 25, 2020 11:05 PM |
I loved it. Yes, Josh was annoying. I loved Tom. I loved Ella. Loved loved loved the father’s second wife.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 25, 2020 11:14 PM |
Dad and May were the show’s weak link.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 25, 2020 11:37 PM |
Ok, r23. Please shoot me.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 25, 2020 11:39 PM |
His new show is just as full of mental and initials after names.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 26, 2020 1:14 AM |
The straight BFF Tom is cute, lovely character.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 27, 2020 1:17 PM |
The second season was probably the best season overall. The storyline involving Josh’s mom in the mental health facility was particularly effective.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 28, 2020 4:26 PM |
Hearing Pippa from Home & Away say "fuck" is just wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 29, 2020 2:22 PM |
Watched this show a while back.
The first season was great.
The second season was tolerable.
The final two seasons were not worth the time.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 29, 2020 2:27 PM |
I found this on Finnish Netflix many years ago and binged the first few seasons during a visit there. I went back later and finished up the entire series.
I love Please Like Me, even with all its flaws and annoyances. Keegan Joyce as Arnold is darling. Tom Ward as Tom is my favorite, and he is downright hot beginning in season two. Josh's mother, father, and stepmother are excellent. Josh Thomas as Josh, however, is frustrating but refreshing.
When I need a pick-me-up, I binge Please Like Me over a couple days, then I feel better.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 29, 2020 2:34 PM |
If you like PLM I recommend Rosehaven, another quirky Australian comedy.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 29, 2020 5:53 PM |
Team Geoffrey. Fuck he is hot. Too bad he’s gone to shit irl.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 29, 2020 6:26 PM |
How so????
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 29, 2020 6:29 PM |
I like Josh and Tom's friendship. Apparently bff IRL. I won't binge watching but space it out. Like candy.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 29, 2020 7:26 PM |
The best episodes centered around Josh-Tom-Claire. Boyfriend Arnold and Lohan-lookalike Ella were annoying as fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 30, 2020 12:39 AM |
I always hated the way Josh pronounced "Arnold." The sound is so far up his nose it comes out his eyeballs.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 30, 2020 12:43 AM |
The Australian series with an ugly, annoying twat as the lead? It's simply boring and annoying and self-indulgent.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 30, 2020 1:10 AM |
Imagine how much better it would be with Tommy Little and Beau Ryan instead of Josh and Arnold
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 30, 2020 2:50 AM |
No no no please do not remake it. Let it be, with its own charm.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 30, 2020 5:53 AM |
Not Jojsh's life but TL's.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 30, 2020 12:09 PM |
Josh Thomas is definitely not cute OP. Not by a long shot.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 30, 2020 12:52 PM |
R42, cute is both relative and subjective.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 30, 2020 2:05 PM |
You find relatives cute? Me too!
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 30, 2020 2:20 PM |
I thought he was cute on the show. Did he cast actors who were much more attractive to play opposite him romantically? Hell, yeah (and I thank him for it).
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 30, 2020 3:19 PM |
I've been binging the series the last few days. Tom reminds me so much of my nephew in his insecurity and morality. And though I'm old enough to be his father, Keegan Joyce is so adorable it hurts. I want to hug him and make him feel loved. And the boy can sing! Sigh.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 31, 2020 1:47 PM |
R45 Josh says in the first episode how he can't be live that he got a guy so much hotter than him. so yeah, there's no self delusion here. That's what makes him cute, his manner and his deportment rather than his looks.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 31, 2020 5:12 PM |
I guess I'm the only one who find the father hot.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 31, 2020 10:49 PM |
So far, no one is going online. Don't they use grindr in Australia?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 1, 2020 1:35 AM |
The mentally ill bf is the cutest imho.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | November 1, 2020 2:59 AM |
When they decide not to be monogamous that's the end for me. Call me names, but if you don't want to be with only me, I don't want to be with you.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | November 1, 2020 10:51 AM |
The show is not about you r51
by Anonymous | reply 52 | November 1, 2020 11:17 AM |
Yeah, you are right. I probably relate way too much to the show for my own good.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | November 1, 2020 11:20 AM |
The lead is really ugly. Why don’t they pair him with equally ugly guys?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | November 1, 2020 11:22 AM |
[Quote] The lead is really ugly. Why don’t they pair him with equally ugly guys?
Because you didn't attend the casting session.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | November 1, 2020 11:42 AM |
He's goofy cute. He's pleasant to look at and yeah his bfs are cuter.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | November 3, 2020 12:13 PM |
Ok I just finished watching the entire series. I'm am devastated and exhilarated, both. Watch it guys, highly recommended.
Bye!
by Anonymous | reply 57 | November 9, 2020 1:35 PM |
I just got up to the last season. I couldn't get through five minutes of the first episode. It's telegraphed that they are going to have a threesome with the guy at the bar, the new guy will only be interested in Arnold, and that will break them up. And clearly one of the characters will kill herself or himself by the end of this season. I'd rather leave it before seeing that.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | November 9, 2020 2:48 PM |
The first season is enjoyable...then, it just becomes more of the same.
