I voted Wednesday afternoon at the polling place. Among a crowd the likes of which I've only ever seen late on election day, and this was 3 pm on the third day of early voting. One good thing, Trump/the GOP's attempts at blocking mail voting and disenfranchising voters have gotten more people invested in getting off their asses and exercising their right to vote than I've ever seen before. I can't say if this favors Democrats, but if Republicans win it won't be because of voter apathy. Whoever gets the most votes really will be the choice of the people.

That's the catch in all these "get out the vote" campaigns -- it makes Trump voters vote as well.

Voted today, the first day of early voting in NYC. The single file lines were huge even when I got there at 2:00pm. It took three hours, but it wasn't miserable and the voting part took five minutes!

I voted a mix ballot with Trump for president. I feel like we need someone who will get the economy back, let the states decide their safety protocols based on what works, and it's ultimately up to the American people to mitigate the virus through masks, social distancing, and hand washing. Why waste three hours standing in line? Why not just vote by mail or online? Everyone I know mailed in their ballots so they don’t have to spend half a day voting.

R44, a lot of people don't trust the mail to deliver their ballots, with good reason. I called the local board of elections October 22 to request an absentee ballot for my elderly neighbor. It arrived in the mail yesterday. I drove it to the polling place and dropped it off for her this morning. No lines.

I talked to a Somalian co-worker yesterday. Months ago I asked him if he was going to vote and he said "I wanted Bernie to win" (the nomination).

He said he tried to request a mail-in ballot a while ago but he was "too late". Then he discovered he'd missed the deadline for early voting. So he was going to try to vote in person today.
