A significant minority of black men are attracted to Trump because he’s perceived as a ruthless gangsta. These black men tend to be misogynistic, narcissistic, and lovers of cruelty, and Trump makes them gleeful. They dislike all the people Trump and his followers dislike, except maybe blacks, and some of them even dislike other blacks. The Hotep movement is largely very proTrump because they hate the feminization of society and object to homosexuality.

Ive spoken to a couple of black men who support Trump. For the most part, they hate the establishment that runs the American government, because they feel like the government has never truly helped them in their life. They see Trump as someone who can demolish the status quo because he does what he wants. Not that this is indicative of all black men's opinions on this matter. But black men in general have a very bad opinion of the government as whole. The tumultuous year we have had in America when it comes to treatment of black men probably has the distrust at an all time high.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 20, 2020 2:33 AM |
People mistakenly align BLM to the democratic party. There is no alliance to any party. I think the there was way too much pandering to the black community who don't give a fuck. Obama's success doesn't automatically rub off on Biden.

So basically these black men who vote for Trump are homophobes.
When Mayor Pete was running, everyone said behind the scenes that he will never get elected because of the homophobia in the black community. Then it change to just the older black community. Then it changed to not homophobia at all (how dare you accuse us of that) it was because he dared to fire a black police chief for BREAKING THE LAW. Then he wasn't experienced enough. Then he was like white Milk Toast which is racist by the way. Excuse after excuse after excuse with ZERO votes from the black areas LESS that TRUMP! Who as POTUS actually hurt the black community and stokes hate and violence. The only reason is pure homophobia.
I am not saying all people of color are homophobic or even most, that is ridiculous, but I think its time to call it out for what it is and acknowledge that homophobia is a big problem in the black community, and by that I mean more so than White, Asian or Hispanic minorities. There is a degree of it in every group but every group is not equally as homophobic. It's just not true. I am not playing "they are all the same" game.
Even Al Sharpton last week mentioned this homophobia problem on MSNBC. No I don't have a link, it was an off the cuff remark he made on air about something the black community needs to work on. You can Google it if you don't believe me.
This needs to be acknowledged and dealt with. That is all I am saying. Stop pretending it dose not exist.

Exactly R106. Black lives do matter, but fuck BLM. They do not care about gay people.
Black people hate everything about white people and their lives...until they get money. Black people with money don't stay and improve their neighborhoods if they are from the hood. The move to the whitest, richest enclaves they can find. They often have white spouses. OJ Simpson in the classic example and a primarily black jury acquitted him despite all the evidence. A poster about mentioned that there is a lot of self loathing in the black community. American democrats have made this whole election about black Americans, let BLM have the run of major cities with no consequences, but people don't give a fuck. I think it's time the black community took a very hard look in the mirror to see want their own contribution to their problems might be. It's not all whitey, I'm afraid.

People like 50 Cent ARE that segment wealthy and elite. His lawsuit with Teairra Mari is a perfect example of how he treats his own race and women like garbage. Donald Trump would definitely approve.

Incredible. Shall we run down the list of white celebrities who have endorsed Trump and the GOP agenda compared to the few token black ones? Were you crying about “homophobia in the white community” when Jon Voight came out and endorsed Trump? I mean Trump literally would not be in the White House right now if it wasn’t for white people. There wouldn’t soon be a 6-3 rightwing majority on the Supreme Court that will overturn gay marriage if it wasn’t for white people. The Republican Party wouldn’t EXIST if it wasn’t for white people. When are you going to call for us to start addressing homophobia in the white community?

Exactly! The vast majority of black men and women will vote Democratic. No other group supports the Democratic Party at similar rates. The white majority will vote to re-elect Trump. Thirty percent of Asians and Hispanics will vote Republican.
This is just another thread where datalounge’s white supremacists expose themselves. If you are looking for someone to “blame” for Trump. Look at your own families and neighborhoods. That is where you will find the Trump supporters.

Anyone who is not rich and votes Republican is voting against their own economic interests. All middle class and poor people (the majority of the country) has been treated like shit by Trump. Regardless of race they all feel that they have something to gain. What is flawed is the white supremacist prism through which you are attempting to interpret voting patterns.
[quote] Nope. EVERYONE who voted for Trump is to blame. You are either part of the solution or part of the problem.
The math tells a different story. And perhaps you need to direct your comments to the person above who initially mentioned the word “blame” and assigned that “blame” to a population that gave Trump 8% of their votes. You and the other idiot above were okay with blame being assigned to black people. (Whom you feel are not entitled to the same options as yourselves.) Yet, you are offended by that blame shoe being put in the white communities foot.

From CNN:
"If you're a Republican presidential candidate, you recognize that most Black people aren't going to vote for you. But the most likely segment of Black people to vote for you is Black men, and a particular sort of Black man," Johnson told CNN. "It wasn't surprising that after Trump became the President-elect, a parade of Black men -- celebrities and athletes including Steve Harvey, Ray Lewis and Kanye West -- went into Trump Tower. If you're a Black man and a celebrity or an athlete, that usually means that the money you have is new and that you grew up either poor or working class."
How Trump speaks to Black Americans says a lot about his vision for the country Johnson believes that there's something about this brew of economic security, hypermasculinity and bootstrap self-determination -- "he has accomplished so much almost all by himself," Walker says of the President in a spot airing on Black radio stations -- that can make Trump resonate with some Black men. In 2016, 13% of Black men who voted cast their ballots for Trump. For Black women, this figure was a meager 4%. (Notably, men of every race supported Trump more than the women of that race did.)

I asked a young black male friend if he had voted yesterday, and he said no because he has reservations about Biden after the debate. He says he is upset Biden sponsored the Crime Bill and never really has done much for black people. I tried to explain to him the historical context of the bill and that Biden said it was a mistake. I said at least Biden is trying to learn and grow on racial issues. I asked him how he can forget all the blatant racist stuff Trump has done and be swayed by Trump talking points.

R237, a lot of young people don’t realize how bad many inner city areas were in the 80’s and early 90’s. Crack was a scourge and a lot of people in the black community supported the crime bill. Looking back, clearly it did immeasurable damage, but the reasons behind it should be better understood.
Also, R210, Kobe didn’t support of vote for Trump in 2016. He just saw the (unfortunate) writing on the wall.

You're being rather loose with the word "overwhelmingly". Trump won a majority of those who white voters without a college education, not an overwhelming majority. Funny, how black people hate being stereotyped as being all the same, but do the same thing to white people.

Love all you fuckers having hate for a black man having his own opinion, independant of what you think a black man's opinion should be. You're most likely all hypocritical Biden supporters--a man who supported DOMA & Don't Ask Don't Tell, supported segregation, supported the '94's crime bill, lost the '88 Dem nomination for president because he was caught plagerising another politician 's speech, said he'd be hard pressed to buy a slurpee from someone who wasn't Mid-Eastern, and who's running mate believed the women who claimed he'd harrassed them until she got his phone call to run on his ticket. Also, let's not forget the numerous gaffes against blacks over the years. Go ahead, respond with a list of Trump's bad behaviors because that's all you have for defense & because it always makes your shit show look like the fucking Ice Follies.

R254...No, it just shows a long personal history of doing whatever's convenient & advantageous whenever it's required, then claiming "Ooopsie, my bad" after the fact. I'm no Trump supporter, but Trump is not a career politician. Biden is. Biden has played the game every step of the way & wants a pass for the times he hadn't "evolved" yet. An ethical politician does what's right regardless of the current political climate or how much of a disadvantage it may be. That is not Biden, but that is the ground he'd like voters to believe he stands upon.

Then it ends up looking like a cheap house in the valley with 16 rooms. They also foolishly believe the value of the house goes up with their name. LMFAO It's been proven time and again when it comes to real estate, 99% of the buyers do not care to pay more for that privilege.

Trump support with Black men is highly overstated, mainly by racists looking to drive a wedge in the liberal coalition but also by people who just don't know better and believe anything they read online.
Support for Trump with black men has gone from about 14% in 2016 to about 20%. Not a seismic shift. More than 3 in 4 black men are still voting against Trump so saying the group generally supports him is just factually incorrect.
Also more than 60% of white men support Trump. So if your take is that 20% of black men voting for him is proof black people are homophobic than you necessarily believe all white people are much more homophobic. Obviously both those takes are nonsense
