R2, I'm shocked, she was an adult when I had to watch this on the one tv in the house with a soap addict mom who is younger than her and she looks fucking amazing. I'll be 40 at the end of the year. She's atleast mid 60ish, these soap stars have drunk the potion, because they all seem to defy aging (hands excluded ,ahem, Ms. Lucci).

I've been a fan of Cady's since she started on All My Children in 1988. As R12 mentioned, she had an abusive childhood and has had some mental-health issues.

I've read her blogs and book off and on, and Cady seems to be a goodhearted person who tends to overshare and state her opinion when not wanted in professional situations, which has caused her some problems over the years (notably being fired from AMC).

She was financially supporting her mother and sister beginning in childhood. Her father molested her. Cady fell in unrequited love with her co-star Michael E. Knight during their first stint together on AMC. Cady's mom had a terminal illness, and Cady quit to take care of her and get some education.

She is not a religious nut like Melissa Reeves.

I would believe her birth date as stated as Oct. 13, 1969, because she's been acting in national projects since the late 70s.

She is a strong actress and an OK singer. I've never cared for the shakiness in her voice.

Decades ago, my husband and I were riding the train in LA. We exited to the street and somehow found ourselves next to the red carpet for the daytime Emmys. We saw Cady in her beautiful gown. We shouted, “Dixie, we love you!”. She looked at my husband and me, smiled, then did this gesture where she touched her heart and waved. Fan for life.

When she joined AMC, she was instantly thrown into a gigantic storyline with David Canary and Julia Barr, two major pros. She more than held her own, won an Emmy and became a serious fan favorite. They paired her with Michael Knight and the rest is history. She had major charisma and was a big reason AMC was so dominant well into the 90’s.

I'm glad you had a nice moment with her r49. I never got to meet any of my faves from Another World. I still cherish so many of those actors and the performances they gave, even if they show is now long gone.

I watched Eileen Davidson do some cameo videos....? Is that what they're called? Where fans pay 50 bucks for a minute long shoutout video from a celeb? And it was....strange. Like what can they really say to a fan they're never met, as they sit on their pool chair doing a whole string of these in a row? It can be awkward enough at a convention.

I wish there was a good director on set because watching Cady and Matt A trying to act opposite each other is like Cajun food and Sushi sharing a plate. She's doing like children's theatre acting and grabbing her face and all this stuff, and Matt is going Shatner with all...his....pausesandrushingwords and then...more....pauses!

They could work alright opposite each other, but they look like they're out there on their own and have no clue how out of synch they're coming off. I hope it improves. Cady has the look, but her style is clashing.

That's going to be the case with any actor replacing another one. But I agree, she's a bit awkward in the role so far.

With time, the writers will begin writing Jennifer to Cady's speech patterns. And in time, she'll get more comfortable in the part.

I have to agree. I think Cady is a good actress, loved her on AMC and ATWT. However, so far, she's just reciting lines. She's not really acting the part.

The scenes of Jenn confronting Jack and bringing up the past seemed especially hollow. Cady was just reciting her lines, didn't even seem to be trying to infuse the lines with history and subtext. I get it, Missy could have delivered those lines with intensity and anger because she played the scenes Jenn was referring to originally. Cady doesn't have that same connection to the material.

Maybe she'll grow into this role in time. The Days taping schedule has got to be an intense adjustment for her.
