Did John Kerry ever have a chance to beat GW Bush?

I sort of checked out of that election. For some reason as soon as Kerry got the nomination I felt like this is over. Bush wins.

He only lost by a small percentage

Kerry lost by only 3 percent — within the margin of error like Hillary lost.

The nation has been nearly evenly split between the parties like this for 20 years.

Truth is, Kerry had a commanding lead over Bush for all of 2004 until late August — when the 1-2 punch of the Republican Convention and Swift Boat Veterans for Truth slander campaign came out.

Nominating Kerry took away the worst negatives about Bush: out of touch wealthy, draft dodger . He was picked by the Republicans to be our nominee.

Black folks did not like Kerry. They are the lifeline of the Democratic Party so that was a major problem.

His enthusiasm for the Iraq war was why I didn’t vote for him and won’t vote for Biden either.

I completely forgot John Edward was his running mate. Kind of smarmy twosome.

"His enthusiasm for the Iraq war was why I didn’t vote for him and won’t vote for Biden either."

You. Are. Dumb.

"Nominating Kerry took away the worst negatives about Bush: out of touch wealthy, draft dodger ."

Huh? Kerry wasn't a draft dodger.

"Kerry lost by only 3 percent — within the margin of error like Hillary lost."

Kerry didn't lose the popular vote

by Anonymousreply 7September 30, 2020 5:04 AM

^ Ooops, I meant 'Hillary didn't lose the popular vote"

I think it was the first time the Russians had the technology to hack our voting machines. Bush was hugely unpopular by then. There were troubles with voting everywhere, esp. in Ohio. Kerry didn't have the balls to fight the fraud, so he just conceded.
