2.5 hours of sleep a night is probably shaving 25 years off of your life, OP. I hope you realize getting less sleep than a meth addict isn’t something to brag about.

You have all those extra hours in your day OP. Why not learn English?

R2 should have been R1.

If I don’t set an alarm and have nothing to do, my body’s natural sleep time is 3am-11:30am. Waking up before 9am is incredibly unnatural for me, and not something I have ever gotten used to. Everybody is different.

Guess your bipolar disorder stays almost exclusively in the manic phase, huh OP?

Less than three hours of sleep a night sounds very unhealthy over the long run. There are some people, but it's very rare, who only need about four hours or so. OP sounds like a ticking time bomb.

With COVID (and not working), I'm actually sleeping 7.5 to 8 hours a night for the first time in 30 years. And I still take a nap in the afternoon.
When working, I averaged 6 to 6.5 and could not sleep in on the weekends. Ever.

The COVID-19 quarantine / work from home regimen has totally fucked up my sleep cycle.
I’ve always been a night owl, but now I’m keeping vampire hours - up all night, to bed at dawn.

I can sleep less than 8 hours for a day or two (meaning only getting 6 or 7 hours of sleep) but by day three I'm gonna need a 10 to 12 hour sleep to get caught up.
And, I'm very much a "go to sleep around 2 or 3am, then up at 10 or 11am" kind of guy. I'm a mess if I have to get up before 10 am.

There's a great article out there about how much sleep we need is really hard-wired into our DNA: hours/wake up times and how it really is hard to circumvent it. Sorry i don't have the link, it was from a few months ago and i can't find it, but some people do apparently need only 3-4 hours a sleep in a 24 day cycle and they wake/sleep at a specific time. Same thing for others that don't do well with earlier wake up times (from 6-10ish in the morning). there is a genetic link and not just about people being lazy. i know i don't work best before 930 am, it's all a waste of brain time/space and everything is so much slower.
