how tf do people sleep past noon?

i only sleep 2 and a half hours a day from 3:30am to 6am and i think sleeping for 10+ hours is insane

by Anonymousreply 19September 30, 2020 6:46 AM

2.5 hours of sleep a night is probably shaving 25 years off of your life, OP. I hope you realize getting less sleep than a meth addict isn’t something to brag about.

by Anonymousreply 1September 30, 2020 12:15 AM

You have all those extra hours in your day OP. Why not learn English?

by Anonymousreply 2September 30, 2020 12:17 AM

R2 should have been R1.

You don't say? We certainly can't tell from your post, OP.

You must look like shit OP

OP is working hard to keep traffic up with her bullshit threads.

Stop doing all that meth, Mary!

by Anonymousreply 8September 30, 2020 12:40 AM

If I don’t set an alarm and have nothing to do, my body’s natural sleep time is 3am-11:30am. Waking up before 9am is incredibly unnatural for me, and not something I have ever gotten used to. Everybody is different.

Guess your bipolar disorder stays almost exclusively in the manic phase, huh OP?

by Anonymousreply 10September 30, 2020 2:06 AM

Less than three hours of sleep a night sounds very unhealthy over the long run. There are some people, but it's very rare, who only need about four hours or so. OP sounds like a ticking time bomb.

by Anonymousreply 11September 30, 2020 2:26 AM

With COVID (and not working), I'm actually sleeping 7.5 to 8 hours a night for the first time in 30 years. And I still take a nap in the afternoon.

When working, I averaged 6 to 6.5 and could not sleep in on the weekends. Ever.

Hello, Margaret Thatcher and dementia.

You're a fucking Drug Addict, OP!

by Anonymousreply 14September 30, 2020 2:42 AM

i get up at like 5 no matter...ugh

by Anonymousreply 15September 30, 2020 2:44 AM

The COVID-19 quarantine / work from home regimen has totally fucked up my sleep cycle.

I’ve always been a night owl, but now I’m keeping vampire hours - up all night, to bed at dawn.

by Anonymousreply 16September 30, 2020 2:46 AM

I can sleep less than 8 hours for a day or two (meaning only getting 6 or 7 hours of sleep) but by day three I'm gonna need a 10 to 12 hour sleep to get caught up.

And, I'm very much a "go to sleep around 2 or 3am, then up at 10 or 11am" kind of guy. I'm a mess if I have to get up before 10 am.

by Anonymousreply 17September 30, 2020 2:47 AM

OP has never experienced major depression.

There's a great article out there about how much sleep we need is really hard-wired into our DNA: hours/wake up times and how it really is hard to circumvent it. Sorry i don't have the link, it was from a few months ago and i can't find it, but some people do apparently need only 3-4 hours a sleep in a 24 day cycle and they wake/sleep at a specific time. Same thing for others that don't do well with earlier wake up times (from 6-10ish in the morning). there is a genetic link and not just about people being lazy. i know i don't work best before 930 am, it's all a waste of brain time/space and everything is so much slower.
