I really like her. She's gracious and very talented and she's aged beautifully.

Carrie Ann is gorgeous and has a beautiful voice. I'd bet Disney was into locking her into a multi-year contract to get her involved in new cinematic offerings. Hey - just off a Skype chat with a close friend in LA. One of my best friends from college and he's at a major agency in LA for the past 15 years. I talked about this thread and my interest in CAI and the renewed interest in her career.

He said others are buzzing about her. Most think the boyfriend is made-up, but he alleges she's doing it to show she is willing to play Hollywood games. He said being perceived as straight is super important as Hollywood films need Chinese market to stay afloat, especially after Covid. Most think she is asexual (not lesbian) and not interested in dating guys. Additionally, most people he talked to about her say they're "glad" she has all these medical issues (Lupus, iron deficiency, etc.) because those stories get tons of web hits and media attention and will always give her something to talk about when promoting films and other projects. He says her age is not an issue at all because she still "reads young."

The most shocking thing he told me is that she's under serious consideration to play John Wick's sister in John Wick: Chapters 4 and 5, to be released in 2023 and 2025. The sister character (Brenda) is purported to have major character arcs and possibility of a spin-off franchise or prestige series (on HBO Max) ala "Lady Vengeance" or an updated "Female Convict Scorpion."

He also confirmed what I heard that Disney has been courting her for a deal. Asian representation is super important to them right now and they want her to write/perform/record songs for Frozen 3 and Avatar 3/4/5.
