Amy Coney Barret shows bad character and lack of morals by accepting the nomination this close to an election.
She can’t control what a desperate Mitch or Plump do this close to the election, but she didn’t have to accept the nomination.
The moral thing to do would have been for her to defer her acceptance until after the election. To show good faith, trustworthiness and commitment to the country.
Instead, she proves that she is selfish and immoral and doesn’t give a crap about what it best for the country, but only for herself.

In her mind she believes she IS doing "what it best for the country."

To her it’s an acceptable means to an ends to her life’s work of building the Kingdom of God. To everyone else it’s what OP said.

I have a feeling she is into some dark stuff. Nobody gets these handmaiden delusions where they want want all women to be controlled by men. She got like that for a reason. What happened in her murky past?

Share this on your social media. She is not being called to the carpet for accepting this nom at such an inappropriate time in our country. It’s just wrong.

Does this lady have no class? Only a terrible person would do this when the country is so divided.

As far as I’m concerned, this tells us all we need to know about her.
At least Merrick Garland has class.
He was rightfully nominated.

If I was in the senate, I would refuse to seat her until Garland got his due hearings.

She will always be considered illegitimate.

I hope some Senator quotes what Mitch said verbatim in 2016 if there’s a hearing.
Make that go viral before November

I saw a letter in the NY Times today about her statement Kingdom of God. Rather than mocking it on religious grounds the writer asked whether the current administration's actions bring us closer to the Kingdom of God. Either way it is entirely creepy statement.

we're getting a little low aren't we? Which one of you wouldn't Jump at the opportunity of a lifetime? I don't want her in and she isn't going to get in but you can't blame her for wanting something that was offered that is so unreachable to almost everyone.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 28, 2020 5:30 PM

Of course you can blame her. She is a federal judge. Yet she is acting like an unprofessional, unethical hack.
Anyone with a shred of morals would have deferred the acceptance by one month.

R15 exactly. However, I would say everyone is up on their moral high horse rather than “getting low”. This is DL where everyone is a paragon of morality and class. 🙄🙄🙄

If RBG had stepped down when Democrats were in control of the Senate we would not even be having this discussion. What other profession permits octogenarians suffering from terminal cancer (the same that killed her mother) to keep plugging along as if nothing bad would happen at an inopportune moment? Her hunger for power, prestige, and fame was no different than Amy Coney Barrett's. Nobody reaches the top of an industry--whether law, business, academia, or commercial estate--without being selfish.
The bigger question is why can a single judge so radically alter our country's judicial landscape? Why do we accept that?

She has crazy religious cult member eyes. Like a Manson girl. She truly believes she is saving the country. Dump is so far from moral and religious but is trying to kick up his religious base. What a monster. He really is the Antichrist.

In the past, she did say that a Supreme Court justice should not be nominated in an election year. Of course, she changed her mind like all of the Republicans.

I saw on TV this morning that conservatives are already selling T-shirts with her picture on them with the caption "Notorious ACB." That is just disgusting in my opinion and yet so typical of the right wing today.

It's pretty sad how easy it will be for this woman to make millions of other people's lives miserable by denying them their humanity and breaking them financially should they become ill. Not single handedly, of course, but she and her right wing pals on the court will be a formidable force inflicting harm and cruelty for decadesa, at least three of them in service to their "God".

All of this makes me wonder if they believe everything Repigs do is somehow for a higher cause - as if they can freely break the Constitution and disobey the law because it's on the behalf of a righteous cause.

Re her stance on abortion: if we have freedom of religion in this country then why are we allowing judges to foist their anti-abortion religious beliefs onto the nation as a whole? Makes no sense.

Did they? The entire faculty at NDLS signed a letter of support when she was nominated to the 7th Circuit in 2017. I wonder what she’s done since then to make them change their opinion of her.
