The stars of that series, Richard Chamberlain as Father Ralph de Bricassart and Rachel Ward as Meggie, were adored by the viewing public. But not by the author.

'It was instant vomit!' she shrieks through a cloud of smoke. 'Ward couldn't act her way out of a paper bag and Chamberlain wandered about all wet and wide-eyed.

'The filming was done in Hawaii, there was only one kangaroo on set and everyone sounded American except Bryan Brown, whose Oz accent stuck out like a dingo's bits.'

I thought Rachel Ward quit acting because she met Bryan Brown during production, they married, and she moved to Australia and started having his babies.

They ALL suck. As does the story. I rooted for the wild boar to wipe them all out.

I love Barbara Stanwyck as an actress, but all I did watching this thing was wait for her dentures to fall out. And how the old dyke could pretend to lust after the middle-age gay guy was beyond me.

HORRIBLE show. But then most Australian or Australian-derived non-comedic works are.

A shirtless Bryan Brown wearing suspenders? I busted several loads gazing on that beautiful sight, hitting rewind on the VCR over and over.

Philip Anglim was horribly miscast as Dane. Dane was supposed to be stunningly handsome and strikingly similar to his father. Anglim was a stuttering mess. I have always thought Peter Bergman would have been a much better choice, if he had even been considered.
