Do the people who work in news or in DC already know who the VP pick will be?
Tonight on "The News Hour" with Judy Woodruff there was so much talk about how disappointed black people are going to be if Biden doesn't pick a black woman that I wondered if they all had already heard who it was going to be(and it was going to be a white woman), but couldn't announce it yet.
I can never tell whether it's widely known ahead of time or whether things like this are big surprises to them as well as to us. I remember it being known ahead of time Mondale would likely pick Ferraro, but most other Dem VP picks surprised me--especially Gore for Clinton in 1992 and Biden for Obama in 2008.

Nope. Remember when John Kerry was the nominee many media outlets incorrectly reported who he picked as veep.

Who was Kerry's Veep pick? I can't remember. I know Gore's was Edwards.

Kerry picked Edwards. Gore chose Joe Lieberman.

What terrible choices those both were. An egomaniac who had no loyalty to the Democrats, and a vain empty suit who cheated on his dying wife.
