Well, Trump is very brave. He said he'd run into a school with an active shooter. He should have run out into the street and shown us how a tough guy handles a guy with a gun.

President Trump suddenly exited his coronavirus briefing Monday evening amid reports that the Secret Service shot a person outside the White House grounds.

The D.C. fire department was dispatched to outside the White House at 5:55 p.m. Monday after a call from the Secret Service reporting that they had shot a person in the upper body, D.C. fire spokesman Doug Buchanan said.

President Trump said that the person was taken to the hospital after the shooting, but that he did not know the person’s condition. He added that he understands the person was armed.

Secret Service confirmed on Twitter just after 6:30 p.m. Monday that a shooting involving a U.S. Secret Service officer occurred at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

The FBI referred questions to the Secret Service.

A Secret Service checkpoint for vehicles is at the intersection in question. It is about one block from the northwest gate to the White House grounds.

I laughed out loud when a reporter asked Trump if he went to the Bunker. (He claimed he did not)

If they actually shot this person, he/she must have appeared to be very menacing. At least the poor dog didn't have to bring them down.

So it's the Secret Service that shot somebody. No reports on any other shooting being done.

What was the point of hustling Trump out of there if they weren't taking him to the bunker? Did they think the press pool was going to hear the shots outside, yell "Yahoo!" whip out guns and start shooting at him?

They actually locked the doors when Trump exited the room. The press was locked in there. The SS walked Trump to the Oval Office. He did eventually come back to the Press Room. (Which is a very tiny room.)

The subject is male. And it sounds like his injuries are bad.
