I thought the original was a piece of shit when I was 13. Nobody I was friends with in middle school watched this show. It was very popular with the special ed. kids, though.

Mr Belding. Saved by the Bell. Funny I never made that connection until now. Apparently his character came first since he was also in Good Morning Miss Bliss. It certainly speaks to the quality, or lack therof, of the show that the writers had such imagination.
